Spare tyre well full of water

Had a problem today with abs and ESP lights On and like a clutch slipping feeling so reading on here some said it could be a poor battery so I thought I would have a wee check of battery just to make sure the terminals weren't loose ,emptied boot out and found about 4 inch of water in boot well with water in about the box at the battery and was wondering if there was anything in there that could be damaged by water . He'll knows where the water has got in

When were you last in there, is it years of condensation or do you have water ingress into the boot.
I have just checked mine, it was totally dry in there.

Is there a grommet to the floor pan near the space saver wheel which could be removed to allow water to drain as a temporary measure?
