Alloy wheel wax, which do you use?

Just wondering how many folks here bother with alloy wheel waxes and if so if you use any kind after a car wash & which brand do you recommend to protect against the elements?

I use poor boys wax if I have the time as it sets hard and takes some rubbing to get it all back off, but it works well, if I'm short of time then I use rimwax which is a wipe on wipe off job, both are good but poor boys does last a lot longer.

I'd recommend either coating them with Opti-Coat or Gtechniq C5

I've just refurbished (powdercoat) my standard 18'' alloys that had the corrosion problem around centre caps. So to protect my 'investment' for as long as possible I have also applied Gtechniq C5 sealant based on some very good reviews. It's early days (2-3 weeks) and haven't bothered to wash them yet due to persistent bad weather but they seem to have stayed reasonably clean.

Alloy wheel wax, which do you use?

Not to hijack this thread I figured this would be the right thread to ask this question versus start another one. Can anyone recommend non abrasive wheel/rim cleaner that take off that nasty baked in brake dust on the clad chrome rims? Fr the life of me I can't find one that really works. I can't even be able to guess how much money I've spent on products to do the job. I've had recommendations from friends and friends of friends and they do not work! Since some of y'all are huge believers of religiously clean your vehicle I'm hopping that someone can point me in the right direction. Thanks y'all!

Best Regards, Nick Schultz

Only thing i can thing for doing, is firstly remove the wheels clean them ( if really bad wheel cleaner or apc) then seal and wax the wheels, then each time after that its a lot easier to clean, just clean them regular with you standard shampoo and you wont have a problem

If it's real bad from neglect get Malco Brake-off. Not a maintainence cleaner but will more than do the job. Wear gloves! coating the wheels with a nano-sealant will cut down on future maintainence. Regular wax's (which lay on the surface) wear off very quickly on wheels. Even normal polymer sealants such as PowerLock and WetDiamond wear off after a month (although not o paint) Believe it or not Collonite 845 will last a solid month

I washed my car 6 days ago. Sprayed Armor All wheel/tire on and cleaned them. It snowed two days ago. My wheels are sparklingly shiny.
