Only asking cos if you wanted the Range Rover Sport it's a Disco in disguise but for more money and boy do they have expensive problems.....and are b1tches to work on....and they are thirstier than an alcoholic at dinner time.....one of my mates has learned the hard way and swapped it for a Navaro.....not sure about the choice of swap myself....lol

People do the strangest things. When I was at college a mate had an XK150S. He came in one day looking very pleased with himself having swapped it for a Vauxhall Victor...
The best RR are the old P38's. If anyone wants to get a RR, watch out for the newer 3.6 Vogue V8 oil burners, they can go wrong. The best bits I liked were the heated steering wheel and the air suspension, you can run over a fox and you won't feel anything.
I also had a Mitsubishi Shogun Sport Warrior 3.0 petrol, it was based on a L200. The Warrior had torsion bars to the front & back suspension with coil assisted at the rear. The steering had idler arms, very woolly to drive around town but very fun down West Country and it never breaks down.
But ^^^ I would never recommend any of these vehicles to anyone, either too slow or boring to drive

My missus has a 2001 P38 4.0 V8, had it 2 years now and the only problems I've had are 1 wheel bearing,1 diff bearing (front) and a crank sensor failure and it's done 140+k,it's a bit thirsty (16mpg round town and 20 on mway) but it tows anything I need it to tow and it's got a few people out of ditches too.......lol
we have some L200 Warriors for grotty conditions at work....they only appear for snow & the Badger cull. I hate the fact that theres no depth to the footwell & your legs are almost straight out in front of you....like a sports car 3' in the air.
reasonably nippy though (if you want to try suicide)

I've got a 2006 Range Rover Sport which is my "Every Day Car". I do love it. Had it for about 4 years, do very low mileage, all short around town runs, only about 2000 miles a year (Which I know doesn't suit a diesel), but I do give it some clog quite regular. It gobbles diesel at about 16mpg round town, but not expensive overall because of the low mileage. (Tax deductable as well)
Never had a single problem with it in 4 years , BUT !!!! I'm dreading the time it plays up because I bet they can be expensive to fix.
well Jack,the EPB packs up costing £1000 to fix(they use plastic gears in that stupid box thats tucked up under the back to pull on the cables!!!!).Body computer plays up,climate control plays up only giving heat to one side (normally passenger side) and 16mpg!!!!,thats the same as my missus V8 Rangey,I know of 2 people who loved their 2005 Disco's until...........well they've both got rid of them now

I've probably only used the EPB 5 times since I've had the car. (Is that a good thing or a bad thing) ????.
Just drop the RR into PARK because its so easy to get back into DRIVE (Apart from having to put the bloody foot on the brake first, which I hate). I dont leave the 300C in PARK without the handbrake because It's sometimes not easy to get out of PARK if car has rolled back. Feels as though I could easily do some damage to the pawl on the 300C taking it out of PARK whereas Range Rover drops out easily.
RR takes so bloody long to warm the engine/heater up that if the heating packed in I probably wouldnt even know because I rarely go above 10 miles in it. 300C warms up much faster.
My low annual mileage may help me keep the RR longer, but sometimes a low mileage can add to the faults appearing.

Doesn't the EPB come on automatically when you remove the ignition key? the ones we've worked did and that was the problem,it made a horrible screetching sound then wouldn't come off,I showed him how to disable the EPB by pressing the EPB button and keeping the brake pedal pressed but he kept forgetting so he made us swap it,£600 odd + vat for the box and cables (non-refundable according to LR????)and about 4 hours to do it,you have to be a contortionist to do it,good job I got Chris here as I couldn't/wouldnt do it......lol
