The symptoms of my alternator cable breaking were taking longer to start, lights began flickering a lot and heater/dashboard lights would get stronger when I accelerated/revved the engine. Also check your volt measurements on your evic menu, anything below 14 there is something wrong.

The reading is fiddled on the EVIC to a fixed pressure. If there was an oil pressure sender the reading would change on the EVIC but it never changes. Its a fixed reading of 115 under all engine operating conditions.
The Oil LEVEL sender brings up the Oil Warning Light.

The workshop manual is extremely misleading, in that it provides details for the operation, removal and replacement of a sensor which doesn't exist. A similar situation arises for the fuel filter, which is supposed to have a Water-in-Fuel (WIF) sensor and a water drain valve, neither of which exist. It must be the case that there are different versions of the OM642 engine, which the LX manual doesn't acknowledge.

Oil Filler Cap position
I've just checked my oil filler cap and I have tried it in both positions. The fittings are completely symmetrical, so I can't see why the orientation should have any effect. There are no painted lines visible. I've never come across a filler cap on any car, that hasn't been symmetrical; it must take a bit of effort to design one like that.

Must be different on the Hemi's,I've just gone to mine and started it up and the oil pressure was 60psi and when I picked the revs up the pressure went up to 65 so mine isn't a fixed reading,I haven't looked for a pressure switch on mine....oh and I think you'll find that yours isn't an oil level indicator,it's a low pressure warning switch

Where is this oil level indicator sensor then?, they're normally bolted to the sump and I'm sure the CRuD hasnt got one,I don't know any car that doesn't have an oil pressure switch, cars with oil level sensor have a light for pressure and some other means to tell you that it's low on oil. What you have is an oil pressure switch and if the little red oil light comes on then you're in trouble.
It's definately an oil pressure switch and my oil pressure gauge on the EVIC it definately is not a fixed reading of 115 and 115 is very high oil pressure at any revs for a stock engine
evic says 114 on the oil pressure and does not move and its been the same since i have had it it hasn't changed after the map oil catch can and oter mods its had
