Any word on the Eibach lowering kit for CRD?

Has anyone heard anything about it? My dealer said it should be available before next summer, but I would like to get it ASAP.

Hi Groovyjay,
I cant tell you about the Eibach lowering kit, but I have ordered a KW coilover variant 2 which will be mounted on Friday.
You can have the products they offer on the following link:
http://www.kw-suspension.com/en/30_Products/60_Product_Finder/index.php?modell_1=300C&level=3&hersteller_1=CHRYS LER&gruppe=all

From springs to coilover you have what you need
Best regards from Luxembourg
Robert

Thanks for the link Robert, really appreciate it.

From what my dealer said to me I got the impression that there is a weight difference between the CRD cars vs. the 3.5L cars and that weight difference might cause the car not to sit (stance) right. But they told me Eibach was already coming out with a CRD specific kit...

If possible, take few pictures Before you have the car lowered and few more After.

Thanks
Jay

Diesel are usually heavier in front.

300C are longwheelbase cars (3m05). When lowered, you must be careful in many place (ramp, mountains roads...). In 12'000km I touched already twice right in the middle of the wheelbase and I can't use the garage of our second house. My car is full stock.

First of your car is spot on! The stance is just what I'm after!

Secondly, can you provide more information about the KW kit? Is it just lowering springs or did it come with new shocks? How much did it set you back?

TIA
Jay

Hi Jay,
The KW Variant2 is a coilover set.You have new shocks with new springs.
The ride height can be changed between 2 and 5,5cm, mine is set to 3,5 cm lowered. There is a thread and you can change the height, on top of the damper is a little screw to change the hardness of the damper. The whole set costs about 1200 Euro.
here isa picture to show you the shocks

Best regards
Robert

Hello Jay!

I went for KW lowering springs only. Should be - 40 mm and they just have arrived yesterday. I can let you know more when they have been installed. I believe there will be no problem with even the original shocks. I did the same lowering with a Volvo T5 and it was great. No problems in three years and 120000 km.

Price for 3,5 l spring set is 300 € and dealer here in Funland is US Parts in Helsinki. http://usparts.locomail.com/index.php
They also sell the whole variety of KW coilover sets for good prices! Mailing cost to my local mail office was about 20 €.

So I figured, Coil-overs would be THE ultimate choice, I'm just installing them on my Corvette. But since I don't plan on racing this car I think I'm just gonna go with lowering springs.

Thanks Arto for your answer. Do you have anything on black and white how it'll affect the Chrysler Warranty? I'm most definately going to stop by at US-P soon.
