Tires on Europe versions

When I got my 300 a few months back I noticed a slight jitter from the right front, so I asked them to check on that before delivery (I was lucky enough to buy the car I could test drive). A few day later a Michelin guy called me and told me (softly) that three of the four tires on the car had severe problems and that I would get four new tires. Of course that was done, but I like to know what tires are installed in different countries in Europe. Mine is French btw.

I now have no problems with the tires, they seem stable, traction is good, perhaps a bit noisy at speed over 90mph.

hi mathijskok

Arnie came to me equipped with Pirelli P7's. It's early days yet (450 miles) but Arnie has a very good ride and grips the road like sh*t to a blanket !

Hey gang, for us 'stuck in the states'...could you also indicate tire sizes when you discuss this. Here we have different sizes depending on model of 300 chosen.

Hi Mathijs Kok

In my understanding all european 300C models come with
Dodge magnum 18" / 8,5 wheels and Pirelli P7 225/60R18 on them.

I have no idea how good or bad those Pirelli P7's are since my car
came with Nokia 235/60R18 winter stud tires.
For the next summer I got BFG g-Force T/A KDWS 245/55R18 from our
team member Dave Zeckhausen.

Hi Flying Finn

yeah that's what mine came with - so far so good. No problems at all.

Darned, that confirmed my ideas.
I just called the dealer and they will exchange my tires with the standard Pirelli's. They were unwiling to tell me why they were not done initially.

Here stock rims with Pirelli P7 225/60R18W for the summer and Continental TS760 225/60R18V on the 9 spokes Chrysler (sold by the dealer) rims for the winter.
No problems but anyway 525Nm are to much even on wet roads. Over 3000rpm it's like iceskating.

Fine on dry roads.

Mmmmm... So I could be right in my ideas that these Italian Pirellies are great for bone dry Italian roads but will just play dead and slippery when things are not perfect.

Read this and comfort me afterwards; Traction Control System
