You guys are so polite! Yes, DCX just announced at the autoshow here across the pond that iPod integration will be available in kit form for $175 US. Not sure if that means we will have to use an FM modulator or it is spliced into the harness. Do a search for iPod and you will also see that there are a few companies releasing products and a couple of member playing with their units and having excellent results!

This is a press release from peripheral. Seems like this is what we were waiting for.

The DCX iPod solution for a CAN BUS radio sucks.... it's FM wired modulation. Here is text from a previous post I made a while back. It's the best solution we have right now.... and I've been running it for a few weeks.

I've been researching this topic for a couple weeks now (with much frustration... as I'm sure many of you can understand). The Mopar solution for our CAN Bus LX models is to use a wired FM modulator (which sucks only slightly less than a wireless one).

There has a number of posts about the PAC (AAI-CHY) and the Peripheral Electronics (CHYP) units. The only problem is it doesn't seem like Peripheral is going to be releasing the CHYP any time soon (they've been saying it'll be out soon since the beginning of the year, and word has it the project got put on the back shelf to make way for more pressing matters ---- marketing code for bigger revenue generating items vs. the # of engineers and time we have to focus on that product). This sucks because is has the advantage of having steering wheel controls of the iPod.... but how long do you want to wait for it?????

The best solution so far seems to be the AAI-CHY unit.

The best price for it seems to be at Autotoys.com:

I also found a great connection cable for my video iPod. It will send audio and video, charge the unit on one iPod connect cable. I didn't want to have a 3.5mm jack going to RCA and also have a iPod charger cable (ugly mess of wires). This unit is from Peripheral and it also allows you to send video from your iPod to another source (like sending your iPod movies to your head unit).

The best price I found was at discountcarstereo.com:

They also have another cable (called the PXOD that doesn't have the video out if you don't need it... but it does have gain control which is nice).
