Hi Adrian

i'm sorry but I don't know about your Ipodability - I just wanted to say hello and welcome to the forum.

There are only about 3-4 Brits posting on here at the moment, so you may find answers a litle hard to get at times (although we try hard !).

I know that American spec 300c's are getting some IPODness ability soon, but I don't know if it is coming to European spec cars.

There is thread Auxiliary audio input for factory stereo's has arrived - What is your interest level?
running here that may help.

Good luck with the hemi for when it comes and don't forget - post us some piccies of him so that we can all enjoy him !!

Hi there Adrian...

Just like to add my greetings to those of 'Murphy The Cat'. I have ordered the Sat Nav for my 300C CRD due next month and it is compatible for MP3 use if that helps with your query. BTW I am not a technocrat and don't know my a+++ from my elbow on such matters!

Best of luck with your new Hemi.

Regards

Well thats news to me that the Sat Nav unit has an Ipod input - could you ellaborate on your knowledge of that please?

Where will the connection be?

Tv/sat Nav

You had any thoughts about running a dvd player through your sat nav?

Hi there C5HEA...

I meant to clarify that with the optional extra full screen Sat Nav you get the 6 Disc in-dash CD Changer which has the MP3 facility. The total for that lot is £1400 but you can order the CD Changer with MP3 facility on its own for £400. Not sure if you can connect a TV tuner or DVD facility to the Sat Nav unit / sound system.

If you access www.300c.co.uk then click on 'Equipment' then 'Options' you will see the info re the MP3 connectivity.

Hope that responds sufficient to your needs...as I said I am no technocrat when it comes to in-car electronic gizmos.

Mp3

Geordie

Hi there,

Thanks for your reply - but in answer to it.

The MP3 player allows you to copy MP3 music files from your computer to a CD and play them in the car 6 disc changer. It is not an input for an iPOD which I believe will have to be configured specially away from Chrysler as will the TV/DVD player if you want that as an option too.

That is what I have found out so far and if anyony could add to this then that would be greatly appriciated.

Hi again...

Let me know if you find any positive results particularly with the TV tuner and Video aspects.

Good Evening my fellow UK forum dwellers, i trust you are all well. I have been somewhat unwell these past days and have been lax in my attendance to these jolly chit chats. Well lets see if we can't clear up a few points then.

1. iPod. DCUK still unconfirmed but is almost a certainty for 2006.5 MY cars. Chrysler Corp US have announced that ALL models will have either standard fitment or optional availabiliy for Ipod. Apple have this to say. Interestingly this site hints at backward compatibility and prices in £££!

2. Video and TV. C5HEA seems to have made progress towards this but from what i can gather this will involve open sat nav surgery. Now i know that some are of the ilk that the modification comes at any expense! Personally, and i speak as a former security equipment engineer, I wouldn't fancy jiggering around inside almost 2 grands worth of gadgetry. From past experience these multi stack dash units work to very slim tollerance margins and one misplaced screwdriver will result in untold heartache. Please remember that your warranty goes for a burton the minute you pull the unit apart! Also worth considering that only the unit supplied with the car will work in it without dealer re programming, so no buying a used one on Ebay and just plugging it in!

3. DAB. DCUK should announce this week the final specs of their DAB audio unit. From initial speculation this WILL be available to retro fit (Giving a certain Moggy some additional listening choice). What has yet to be made clear is if the units appearance will remain in keeping with the curent line up. I believe Blaupunkt are to supply the unit. More to follow...

Hi there Belmont CJ...

Thanks for the that useful info. We will await developments.
Just wondering what new updates will be on my CRD when I get it in March / April?
Good to have you back on the forum and 'firing on all cylinders' again. I will hopefully await the postman next week!

Regards
