Entertainment Update, UK.

Greetings one and all, i come bearing great news hot from the DCUK presses! For all those hunting for entertainment systems upgrades we have answers.

Now just for you MTC, please sit down quietly and take a breath before reading on!

After all the searching DC have solved all of the problems relating to retro fitting the dash mounted 6 disc radio upgrade! Although not stated in the release i would assume this to be the RAR mp3 unit offered as a factory option. The info hasn't reached the parts catalogue yet so I can't confirm the MP3 part but certainly a front loading, dash mounted 6 disc upgrade. Priced retail at £560 inc VAT. Fitting should be a simple case of pulling one unit and re fitting the new fella! If it's that simple i'd guess most dealers would be doing the work gratis for their own customers!

Rear seat DVD is now available in a rather shape looking cetre console mounted motif.

Prices still to follow for this little chap but please note the aux jacks in the picture! Providing you don't have Sat Nav fitted this will allow an Ipod to be played through the cars main speaker system or plug in a PS2 and never hear the kids again!

Hope this throws some light on the matter for the UK drivers looking for an upgrade!

Belmont

ps sorry about the picture size!

Fantastic news Belmont

As I have mentioned (once or twice) the only thing that I felt let down my car was the lack of a stacker.. All I need to do now is confirm the price / parts number and happy days are here again.

Thanks for pitching in with the info so quickly.

MTC

p.s. typical marketing ploy. Post a large picture to make the DVD screen look bigger !

Talking With Sat Nav

I have a 2006 300C SRT-8 with the Rear DVD and the Front 6 disk changer and the Sat Nav (and everything else including kicker). The rear DVD system runs about $1195 USD (installed). The auxillary jacks work fine even with the sat nav. The front nav screen, in its stock configuration, allows you to choose the VES (Vehicle entertainment system, aka Rear DVD) as one of the choices as an input to listen from the factory audio system. In other words, available inputs up front are: AM, FM, Sirius, CD (or MP3), VES.

Also it is possible to run the signal from the rear DVD to the front Nav screen and watch movies up front (I Do!) The FFWD & RWND buttons on my front Nav unit actually work for scene selecting on the rear DVD unit!

Hi Danrealtor, is the ability to feed from the rear to the front standard or did this require some rework? These will be dealer fit items, not factory, and everything we have at present tells us that the front screen won't accept an aux feed. If you can cast light on this you may just become a hero to all!

Lovin the picture size!!!!

So does this mean that the DVD player/screen is now going to be an exra option for the 300C? Any idea of price? Could the DVD playing in the back be linked to the front screen?

Well done with the info!

Clunk as the penny dropped.

Hi C5 HEA

the dvd screen has been available as an option since launch. I have a sneaky feeling that you haven't been given the relevant brochures by your dealer. If that is the case, ask your dealer for the "Extras" brochure which gives you the details of all the "Startech Options for 300C" that are available.

There is some very nice kit available, none of it cheap, but very nice all the same. I think the DVD player is £1250.00
