Service at 5000km (you do the miles)

Hooooo..... I know the French manual of the 300C is a bit crummy, but it seems to explain me that I should bring the car in at 5000 km when the weather has been freezing.

Can anybody read a better translated manual to tell me what the service intervals are at the first 25000 km?

Swiss manual for the Hemi stands every 12'000km.
I have nothing for CRD's.

All my manual (English Canadian) says for 5000 Km's is get an oil change & inspect the air cleaner filter. It's for an SRT8, but yours should be the same. I assume you're following Schedule B like pretty much everyone.

The maintenance Schedual description is probably where you're reading this from. It just explains which schedual to follow. The only reference to freezing temperatures is that you must follow Schedual B if the day or night temperatures are below 0C (32F). There's nothing else in the manual regarding sub zero temps.

EDIT: I just re-read your question -

Oil changes are every 5000 Km's OR every 3 months (whichever is sooner)
Inspect air cleaner filter every 5000 Km's
Replace air cleaner filter at 25,000 Km's
Inspect front & rear brake linings & rotors at 15,000 Km's
Replace air conditioning filter at 25,000 Km's
Rotate tires at 10,000 & 20,000Km's

Hi Mathijs

Unless you are in one on the "hard category" of car users, the first sevice for a CRD is at 12500 miles (20000 kms).

Yet another good reason to get a diesel

Well, I guess I should have looked what forum I was in! I go straight to Active Topics where all forums are shown. All I saw was his model (300C). Didn't realize it was a CRD. Forget every thing I wrote.

Now you're gonna tell me I got Rambititis. It's all his fault anyway. He should have 300C CRD, so there. Do you really have to get it serviced anytime it freezes?

and he should write "driving a diesel in Europe ... oh yeah" in his signature as well. Oh he has.

Rambititis or Mixomitosis ?

As for servicing when it's freezing ....... nah, they just mean if its been rotten weather for a loooooooonnnnnnnggggggg period. Don't forget that in England if it freezes for 3 days on the trot the country shuts down. And if it snows at the same time........mass suicide time, the skys going to fall in.

Here, "3 days on the trot" means you've had diarrhea for 3 days and you need to get that serviced. You would say something like, "Man, I got the trots".

ahh Brother Rambit

you must be very careful how you word things in Britain.

I would want to be certain that I was in an appropriate establishment before I said (as per your suggestion)
"I've got a problem with my back end, could someone service me please".
