Looks absolutely beautiful! I see that it has the new bumper facia with extra center openings (note their absence in my signature pics). Will you drive it in both locations, or just in England? BTW Welcome to the forums from our 300C in WV!

GT...

The additional centre opening on the bumper facia is only applicable to the CRD model.

John, just wondered if you intend to fit the OEM front number plate mount in the inverted (upside down) position or are you fitting an alternative mount?

BTW...your car looks terrific!

numberplate

Hi Geordie

My dealer took the number plate and screed it directly to the bumper and it looks fine i didn't know you could turn the housing upside down ,do you have any pictures of it that way.

That's too bad if true! Why would the CRD "need" the extra air flow into the engine compartment? I think it's a great look and would consider that 'mod' to mine for the look (and function).

Geordie,
I am going to try the upside down trick but I also have plans to find out if I can stick on the front plate.

Years ago (when Noah was a lad) I used to have cars with stick on front plates,if these are still legal ( I will ask Mr Plod) then I will stick one of these below the grill. Job Done

Hi again BB...

When a mesh type grille is installed the original OEM number plate mount apparently will not fit flush with the bumper owing to the protruding top edge of the mount which actually engages into the lower slots of the OEM grille.

By inverting it (upside down) the protruding top edge (which is now at the bottom) engages into the centre air intake and remains flush with the bumper. Of course this is only possible on the CRD as the petrol models do not have the centre air intake.

If you access the posts of Murphy The Cat (who has many pics) you will see that he has the OEM front number plate mount inverted.

I would like to see a pic showing what your dealer has done. I presume that he has NOT fitted the OEM mount but has merely screwed the number plate direct onto the bumper?

BTW...glad your first day went so well apart from the debacle with your wheels which is easily sorted.

Regards

Geordie
