Thanks to everyone for the congrats on both the marriage and the car.
Wedding pics can be seen here. (the two links at the bottom - professional ones are the ceremony)

Now back to the car.
************************

Well it's been delayed. It was supposed to be in the showroom today for my pickup on Sat but now it seems that the delivery will be on Monday and pickup the following sat (not quite the end of APR start of MAY I was promissed). -

So one more week to wait. I have purcahsed a new plate to go on the car. And also had a new driveway installed. As the old design may have been too tight for the car to fit due to shrubs and other plants.

I have now spent almost another 10Grand over the list price sorting this car out. It better be decent. (here's hoping)

So I suppose my patience is waining a little now. Most likely because the date is getting close.

I have been looking at other mods for the car. So the first one's will be the AAC halo's (just need to sort out the timing or getting a spare lighting set)

also either going for the Startec unside lights or make my own.

I will post pics as soon as I know anything. ;(

Fantastic photo album Zoro, I've never seen an album in that format before - although I was a bit worried about the "professional honeymoon pictures" (I had visions of "specialist" Dutch websites).

Keep the faith with the car, It'll be worth it in the end (how the heck have you managed to spend £10000 on extras ?).

MTC

p.s. I spotted from your bio that you are in Berkshire. I have a meeting in Aylesbury next Monday / Tuesday look out for Arnie in your neck of the woods.

I'll give a run down on the total car cost a little later tonight. but total spent on car is over 30K then driveway = just under 4K.

So its not 10K,it's most likely about 8-9K but the driveway is an investment in the house (but it was needed to get the car to fit).

either later tonight or tomorrow I'll give a proper breakdown of all costs. but I think the startec wheels cost over 2.5k.

I'm sure it will all be worth it when it comes. I really can't wait.

I'll keep a look out for you.

I saw a gorgeous looking 300C on the M6 (it was going southbound through the roadworks near stafford) on monday about 10:20am,
It didn't seem to have the bentley grill most of us has gone for but a full mesh with no divide down the centre
I was just driving not paying 100% attention to the road in a bit of a daze I suppose going through the motions of the weekly run. When my eyes caught this beast coming towards me.
I became alert straight away and just thought WOW!!!.

These cars really do gert noticed as all the other drivers around me were turning their heads to look.

Roll on next week

Hurrah It's arrived

Well I've had the call from the dealership that my CRD has now arrived

So far the tints were done today, and the Tracker (which has a built in GPS camera detecter.) gets fitted tomorrow. On Friday the Grill and wheels go on. And on Saturday the paint proctection and full valet happens ready for me to collect.

Just now counting down the days.

(still deciding on the front spoiler and the side spoilers however the garage has said I would have to get these fitted at a later date as they need painting).

Its Here

I collected it on Saturday (after a full check).

Its a good thing I gave it a fully check as it has a small chip in the boot paintwork and also a tiny bit of trim sticking out (rear of roof - looks like a rail-bar or something).

besides all that I love the car. I've never known a car go from a slightly illegal speed to a VERY illegal speed so quick (errr alledgely - just incase my insurance company or any law informent people are here)

I would recommend everyone thinking of getting a tracker fitted go with the RAC trackstar it rocks, It has a GPS unit in the tracker which tells them where the car is and they get told as it has 6 mercury switches which sense movement, and then it dials RAC headquarters.
It also uses the same GPS unit to notify me of all Speed cameras in Europe (works well in UK its all I've tested so far) and RAC send it updates via the same GSM it uses to dial them.

Well I thought I would test to see if it was installed correctly (again not really if your reading RAC)

I turned on the alarm and immob and rolled the car back. Literally less than a minute later my phone rang and I had to confirm if I was with the car as it had been activated and if I knew the exact location. Its the best addon for the the best car.

This week I'm in Liverpool and the amount of looks i get. (for everyone in Liverpool NO I'm not a footballer)

But its all good fun. I took my dad for a drive on Sunday and it was the first time I've ever seen a 76 year old man pose. lol. A man pointed at us and then my dad pointed back at him and begun dancing in his seat so that the man could see him. - - - I didn't know where to put my face.

I'm sooooo happy with it even though it has to go back next week to get the paint chip and trim sorted. (could have been because the EVIC said it had done 76 miles in just over 3 hours when I collected it. ummmmm)
I'm not so fussed over the milage but 3 hours of driving????

I'm sure someone at the dealership took it home or used it as a test car hence the chip?????

anyway I need to keep positive thoughts

Here are a couple of pics - I'll post some with nicer backgrounds over the bank holiday weekend.

Hi zoro

you're car looks great and the wheels really set it off. I'm sorry to hear that you've had a few chips problems, but at least something is being done about it. As regards the 76 miles/3 hour bit - someones taking the p*ss. A few miles or a few minutes is one thing, I 'd like to be that the sales/sevice manager lives about 35 miles away and has taken it home to show his mates/wife - I wouldn't be impressed in the slightest. (unless THEY took it to the tinters of course ?, oe the tinters collected it).

Can I suggest that you frame the pictures of the car in it's current condition and keep them somewhere safe - as a fellow owner of a black CRD it will take a minorvmiracle for the car to ever be as clean again !

MTC

p.s. It's just a personal thing, but IMHO the blue european flag on the number plates look hideous. They add a block of extra colour to the front & back of the car where there shouldn't be any, and again IMHO detracts from the look of your car immensely. Get 'em ditched !!!!!

Hi Zoro,
...think your car looks just great (and love the story about your dad - which only goes to prove that the primary role of parents once their children have grown up is to embarrass them)....happy motoring...best. John W
