Flaps away Ginger.

For those of you who have asked to see some piccies of Arnie with his mud flaps, the wait is now over.

not the most stimulating set of pictures, but you get the idea.

blah I don't like mud flaps, they ruin the look of the car, I guess they are practical, but if I wanted practicality I wouldn't get 22s. my 02

Very smart MTC...Do they only come in black and if so can they be painted?

I will be very interested to know how effective they are. Response required within 14 days please!

I presume Arnie now gets a wash every other day!

Regards

The OEM flaps are flat black. Yes, they can/should be painted. Here are a couple of pics from my gallery with respect to how they look when they are paint-matched by Avon Custom Wheels (supporting vendor).

Hello folks

Ukyo Yoshiro, I know where you're coming from, but a combination of black car and a council that throws salt on the road like they have a surplus of it meant that needs must.

As GoofyTimL has shown, the flaps can be painted to colourmatch the car and in the case of the Midnight Blue they can look very, very good. Other members with lighter coloured cars feel taht they look a bit more intrusive. On a black car they are nearly invisible. My last gas was a gold coloured Rover 75 and I had those colour matched - they looked great.

So far I have found them to be pretty damn good. Arnie still gets a wash once a week, but he is definitely less filthy at wash time.

& the cost ? fitted £90.00. which I thought was OK.

sorry to change the subject but i love the euro C's wheels. i want to get a set of them so badly. i hate the US wheels. if i could only find the chrysler center caps i would just find a set of the magnum R/T wheels and change them out. but back to the topic of the mud flaps the look fine. i know when i had my base 300 and my 20" wheels anytime i would turn in water i would have splash marks all on the side of my car. it even does it with my 18" on my C. i am thinking about getting me a set.

You still will get what I will call "overspray" - the water the flashes out of the wheel well as you race down the road and the centrifugal force throws the excess residual water throughout the well. However, the flaps will stop A LOT of direct water and debris lifted and thrown up by the wheel toward the bottom of the car as the rubber comes off the road surface. So a once/week wash is still recommended... at least by me... more frequent if conditions warrant.

haha my doors always get dirty when its wet, because of the offset on the wheels, they stick out of the fenders a bit and it shoots dirt and water, in snow i can see snow shooting over the car. haha

I'm not too worried about getting the car dirty but it's the little stone chips that are already visible behind each wheel where the body work turns into a wheel well. I'm going to put some cleartastic on now to prevent the chipping.
