Recent 300c Articles in the UK Press

Hi

Thought you might be interested to see these recent articles in the UK press:

1) Sunday Telegraph, 12th March: Neil Lyndon compares the 300c with "what a Rolls Royce should have felt like between 1970 & 2000" and says "the 300c can be hurled through corners with what may not amount to abandon but certainly approaches exuberance"

http://www.telegraph.co.uk/arts/main...motoring12.xml

2) Sunday Times, 19th March: Andy Wilman, producer of BBC Top Gear TV prog declares the 300c "Ice Cold" in terms of cool credible cars. He does go on to say the it has the "driving dynamics of a donkey", but I bet this guy has never driven a recent 300c, especially a Euro spec example!

http://driving.timesonline.co.uk/art...090906,00.html

3) Test Drive Magazine April 2006 - Group Test 300c CRD vs BMW 520d vs Vauxhall Signum - 300c comes 1st. "Oozes charisma, well priced, luxuriously kitted out and offers the best performance"

I see that in the articles, they call all the 300's "300C" even though they
don't have a Hemi engine. Is this correct?

It threw me off when they said the milage of a "300C" was 31 MPG, and
we know that a real 300C gets no where near that.

But then I read the engine size was the V6, and that made the milage
make better sense, but they still call it a "300C".

Do they sell Base, Touring, and Limited versions over there, and call
them that? Do they sell a Hemi version?

Hi there CJ7VFR...

UK spec cars consist of three models viz. 3.0 V6 CRD (diesel) (which was the subject of the press test article you refer to hence the 31mpg!); the 3.5 V6 petrol and the 5.7 V8 Hemi petrol all of which are referred to as 300C by DCUK.

All UK models have the exact spec with the exception that the Hemi has 5 factory options as standard (Calif. Walnut; 7 speaker acoustic sound system; full screen sat. nav; 6 disc CD autochanger and electric sunrooof) which are options on the other models.

Regards

Hi Just...

Thanks for those great articles. Particularly good to see the BMW 5 series beig 'stuffed' by the 300C on interior ambiance!
