3. Privacy Tinting all round (not front)
4. Ipod adaptor
5. View a DVD on the Sat Nav screen
6. Whats this EVIC code for more bhp?

I like all of your ideas...You might want to go a little lighter on the tint, though. These cars are already kind of tuff to see out of, and privacy tint is going to make it even harder, IMO.

Make sure you post photo's for us when you get her.

You're right, no birds on this forum

Hi C5HEA

ok from the top
1) Automatic start - Belmont knew of someone who supplied it aftermarket, AFAIK, DC UK don't do it as an option yet. Arnie starts putting heat into the cabin after about 2 miles (special setup that stops blowing cold air into cabin on cold mornings). The seat heaters are VERY, VERY good.

2) 22" chrome wheels - not my thing. I think that Bentley Black has got some, he mat be able to help.

3)Privacy Glass - looks great on a Black Car. Make sure that your tinter uses ceramic based tint - regular tint buggers up the MW / LW reception on the radio. A quick word of warning though. The 300C is a big beast to move in a small space (car park etc). Very dark tints won't help you at all !

4) IPOD adapter. AFAIK not available yet in the UK. Mabye ask your dealer for the latest news/progress.

5) DVD / SAT NAV - sorry, can't help

6) Secret EVIC Code for extra 25 bhp - not telling.

7) Buy a good car washing kit. With a black car it's going to get a LOT of use.
If you haven't considered Autoglyming / Supagard / Lifeshining / Diamond Briting your car, think about it. A lot of people say it is an expensive ripoff by the dealer and is well over priced. I consider it money well spent when every time i wash my car it comes up so well (which is often)
Mudflaps - look very unobtrusive on a Black car and stop your car cleaning efforts going to waste within 2 miles of setting off again.
Numberplate mount - I MUCH prefer the Mourphy The Cat patented method of numberplate mounting. If your dealer insists on screwing the numberplate to the bumper, make sure that you get the mount from him so that you can try the MTC method at a later time - then you can decide which one you prefer.
Running in - I'm a big fan of running in, and I'd say give it a go. Others on the forum thrash the cars straight from the box - it's horses for courses.
Arnie has looseend up a lot in 4000 miles.
EVIC, make sure that it is the current version - version 4.08. If it is not 4.08 you will not get a true MPG reading as it is set in US gals. Also my 25BHP upgrade does not work unless the EVIC is version 4.08.
From the word go set all the EVIC personal settings to where you want them.
As standard the reverse parking sensors are set to OFF. you could be mightily pissed off waiting for a beep that's not going to come.
calibrate the reverse parking sensors. Slowly back towards a wall and gauge what the lights / tome means in term of distance. Arnies sensors are a lot closer in responding than my previous cars.
Set both ignition keys to cerrespond with the seat/mirror/radio memory settings - it saves you and the boss falling out with each other over who has moved the mirrors.
& finally, enjoy the attention from other motorists & pedestrians.

I'm sure that there's more, but hows that for starters.

Well done Murphy - I knew I could rely on you to give me what I wanted. Thanks for being through, much appriciated.

How much were those mudflaps fitted?

Do you think I should get my grille changed for a "Bentley type" one? Any UK suggestions? Whats the Startech one like?

Seriously - what is this about a 25bhp increase? What does EVIC stand for?

Now anyone else got anything to say?

& once again hello C5HEA
the mudflaps were about £90 fitted, but I'd priced them as part of a package including a CD autochanger - the dealer will negotaite on price, its NOT a fixed price for the job. As I said, the flaps are very discreet on a Black 300C

Grille time. I opted for a mesh grill because I wanted my car to look different from standard 300's. Now however, it seems that most people DO change their grilles and it is the standard fitting that looks different. Grille changing is a very personal thing, I like mine (a lot) and IMHO some of the other grilles available are "less nice" (phew, subtlety & discretion). I would never knock another person's mods for their car (except that horrendous one in America), but some definitely look a lot better than others. If you get the chance, ask a few other owners for their opinions (that way, I won't get slagged off for knocking someone elses car).!

EVIC stands for Electronic Vehicle Information Centre and controls the trip computer, personal settings, temp gauge etc (+ all of the Easter Egg options). For a good guide to the Easter Egg thread try here Access EVIC Data & Diagnostic Trouble Codes

see you later

MTC

p.s. you can get an awful lot of Jaffa Cakes into the armrest console.

p.p.s think about getting an armrest console cover from 22Elite - 100% recommended http://www.300cforums.com/forums/int...d-my-300c.html

I've just had another thought that may be good for you.

For me, DC insurance was the cheapest by a mile (& a very high level of cover as well) plus they dished out £65.00 of Virgin Wine tokens. Also, if you've got 2 x DC cars in the house, you get 10% discount knocked off both cars.

geordie found More Than to give good quotes as well ( a lot cheaper than my quote, but I need business cover)

oh and another thing, assuming that there is a Mrs C5HEA, I now have to fight to get the keys from Mrs Cat every time we go out - she's gone from "My god its huge" (phnarr, phnarr) to " you get used to it quickly don't you. I like driving this car. I like driving this car a lot"
Be afraid, be very afraid.

Hi C5HEA
Point 1 : Agree with MTC the heated seats work very quick and get very hot .

Point 2 : I have a set of 22" TIS 03's on Pirelli Tyres 265/22/35 they were on for 4 hours before we noticed that they were rubbing on the US call it the A frame i thought it was a swing arm but whatever they still touched which is no good, Iam looking in the US for a 5mm spacer and 5MM longer Lug nuts to sort this problem out, when they were on they looked the Dogs Bo**ox and the ride was noticably better than on standard 18"s

Point 3 :My car is tinted alround dark on the back and 1 shade darker that legal on the fronts i have no problem with driving or parking either in the day or night and i think it looks great cost £180.00

Point 4 :If you do a search on the forum iPod / DVD you will see a guy who is doing a mod for the sat/nav unit ranging from 200 to 300 $ but does much more than ipod.

Point 5 : see point 4 again his adaptor does much more than iPod and is due out now

Point 6 : for more BHP you will have to Butter up MTC as i have been asked not to tell anybody even my mother.

Point 7 : The Car

If you need any help send me a PM and i will try and help i have looked at most things some work some dont.
Only today i purchased a Headlining DVD Player with an 8" screen and i can not have it due to the fact that i have a sunroof so a waist of money that was but hay we all need to learn to wait and enjoy what we have got.

Kind Regards
Bentley Black
