A question for UK/Euro owners with OEM nav headunit

Just wondering, when you surf AM radio with your UK or Euro purchased OEM nav headunits, what are the increments that the radio moves in? Here in Australia the AM radio stations are located on frequencies like 693, 774, 927, 1026, 1116, 1278 etc...but when i looked at an aussie guy's nav headunit that he bought off ebay (got a US nav headunit) the frequencies go up in ten's. IE. 770, 780, 790 etc....thus it can't pick up the station that we have located at 774. Just goes from 770 to 780 and skips it altogether.

I'm wondering if this is just the way AM frequencies run in the US, or do your UK and Euro headunits go up/down in the 10's increments as well?

Reason i ask is because boston acoustics dont have mapping for australia, thus chrysler dont have the OEM headunit as an option for Australian 300's. However i want the headunit for the mutimedia setup i am planning for my aussie srt8, so I am wanting to import the headunit just to run rear camera and dvd, and later on if they bring out the mapping software for australia then i'll do the upgrade then. But it's pointless doing anything if the unit can't pick up our aussie AM radio stations, i listen to talkback radio and live footy calls regularly and they are nearly all located on the AM dial.

Thanking you in advance thoust who are pommy comrades.
(you WILL lose the ashes)

Dominic,
Do your FM stations go up in even and odd numbers? 88.1, 88.2, 88.3, 88.4. The american ones do not. They are only odd. 88.1, 88.3, 88.5, 88.7.

I am wondering if I have to get a new EURO nav unit, or not.

Sorry if I am jacking your thread.

Our radios dont skip numbers, they go 88.1 88.2 88.3 88.4 etc, but come to think of it i can't recall a station here that has a frequency that ends in an even number. They're all like 105.1, 107.5, 106.9, 101.9, 104.3 etc

ok. When I got to Bulgaria or Romania, they have even number stations that I can't pick up.

Kinda pi$$es me off because those are the good stations. So I mp3 all my music.
