Thanks for that MTC. Actually I do have one query right now: does the manual say anything about the on-board computer being able to give an instant/on-going MPG read-out? I had it on my last car and found it really instructive about what was and what wasn't economical driving

hi John

Instant MPG-no, ongoing MPG since last reset- yes.

on the steering wheel, hit the menu symbol (looks like 2 overlapping sheets of paper), hit the right facing triangle symbol to select trip computer functions, press either the up or down arrows to scroll the different trip computer functions.

Don't be to alarmed when you get your initail mpg ! It does improve marjedly with age/miles.

Thanks Redrooster...I had to wait approx. 9 weeks from ordering to delivery, so I've a good idea how you're feeling...if it's any consolation at this stage: it's more than worth the wait! ...best. John W.

...and thanks again MTC...I appear to be getting 21.5 mpg average at the moment, but all of that has been stop-start semi-rush-hour driving in town. As you might imagine, I'm so looking forward to trying her out on the motorway and, even better,on a good, traffic-free A road through the countryside...at which point the MPG should improve (tight new engine or otherwise)...best. Best to all...John W
ps. she arrived without an owner's manual. Hopefully this will arrive soon, but in case not, can anyone with a diesel tell me if an oil change is due before the annual service (eg. at 1000 miles)?
pps. hi Salenseen, see someone managed to post a pic of the Sat Nav unit before I got to it...hope that solves your problem, but if not let me know and I'll take and post a pic
The new car look very nice welcome to the club
I would very much have liked to see the car with the startech make over and for me the badges on the back would have to go but that just me
well done red5five

Space issue?

Hay there, im relatively knew here so sorry in advance for the noobie question but i was wondering how much space(interior) the car has, could anybody compare the 300C and the touring which seems to have(obviously) a much larger rear but it is hard to tell how much is boot space or seating area. Thanks for the clarification because space is everything to me!

Hi Aleks202

Welcome to our little section !

The interior space for passengers is identical in the Touring as for the Saloon i.e truly massive - the rear has more space than a 7 Series and the front has acres of space for even a big bloke like me to spread out.

Regarding the estate section - John W or Flexion who actually have a Touring will let you know what owning one is like. However from looking around one (I wanted one before plumping for the saloon), I'll let you know my opinion. With the seats up, the estate section adds only a fairly modest amount to the boot area - due to the sloping roofline. It'll let you add taller items to the cargo area without having to struggle and there is also a very handy under the floor area. With the seats down the entire cargo area is massive. From the Chrysler brochures, boot capacity Saloon 504 lt, Touring seat up 630 lt, seat down 1602 lt.

Hope I've helped.

MTC

p.s. I've got some brochures here, would you like me to send them to you ?

Thanks for the thoughts red5five: Apart from ordering the centre and door leather armrests/pads, and fitting a blue-tooth facility, I'm going to live with her for a while before deciding on any modifications: one thing's for sure though, even 'straight out of the box' and just passing by, this car (saloon and touring) gets way more than it's fair share of admiring glances – from both sexes and all age groups cheers. You're not kidding there - have you seen any Touring or many saloon since you've got on the road.

In my 4 months and 7000 mils I've only seen 1 other.
