Question Mobile-BlueTooth in the UK??

I need to put a hands-free mobile facility in my 300CRD Touring. Wondered if any UK owners had already had anything installed? – either a blue tooth device that hooks up with your existing mobile, or a complete hand-free phone system. If so, was it installed by Chrysler, or an indepedent, and either way how discrete is it and are you happy with it?
...best. John W
ps. I have trawelled through a massive thread on this subject elsewhere on the site, and although v. interesting it all appears to relate (unless I've missed someting) to what's available in the US, rather than over here....

Hi John W I had fitted a Nokia HDW 3-Bluetooth kit , which consists of a speaker ,microphone and a button . It works with all phones but i use a nokia so it works fine, when i get in the car it connects automatically to you phone when a call comes in it rings through the speakers (hidden behind dash) press the button and you accept the call, If you want to dial out it works by voice activation press the button and say "home" etc. and it dials home press the button to end the call, the button also turns for a volume setting and when you leave the car it auto disconects.
I looked at all of the kits like one called parrot but you then get a screen to position on the dash which is a pain in a 300c but with the Nokia is very small, and cheap about £60 to £80 on eBay and £40 to fit.

I have took a picture but photo bucket is on a go slow so i will post tomorrow

Hope this helps

Thanks BB, that's very helpful: I also use a Nokia, so this sounds like the solution for me. Look forward to seeing a picture. Did you fit it yourself, or did you get either Chrysler or an independant audio specialist to do it? ...best...John W
ps. love the pic of your saloon!

I got original Chrysler Bluetooth system from local Ebay. Paid for brand new equipment approx. 50EUR and installed by myself in ca 1-1,5hours.
I use Siemens S65 and it workes fine. Quality is good and voice-commands make it simple to use.

Hi John. I'm going down the same route, I managed to pick up a bluetooth Rikaline 32 channel receiver (about £50 on ebay)that you can leave plugged in to your socket in the centre console, but I'm waiting to get the right mobile phone to use with the Satnav, have'nt made my mind up on which one yet!!

Hi Red,

I still haven't installed anything. Thus far I've looked at the various Nokia blue tooth systems (I've got a Nokia mobile plus Bentley Black recommended one). At Carphone Warehouse they range from around £70 up to £300. I've also considered a Motorola HF820 (plugs into cigarette lighter) at around £80. However, am holding back because Hemiwagn (great guy, who I met up with end of last week in London when he came over from Toronto for a niece's wedding) is trying to find out for me if Chrysler's factory bluetooth system 'uconnect' (which operates through a dedicated rearview mirror) is a) available and b) compatible in the UK....and assuming both of those, I'd also need to know what it costs....I'll keep you posted...best..John W

ps. still enjoying the car?!!?...okay, I'll take that as a yes...

Hi John,

Loving every minute of ownership driving it or just sitting looking at it !!!

The Bluetooth GPS receiver I have is the 6033 model as shown in the link below:-
http://www.rikaline.com/bluetooth_gps.htm

As yet not tested but they do have a good write up and are portable with your mobile.

Regards

Red
