I've got an idea for you red

I'll go to the dealer, pretend that I'm you, take your car away and then post on here how good your car is for you to read.

What a winner - you take (virtual) ownership of your car and you get a holiday and a happy wifey thrown in as well.

dvla, speedy, efficiency aren't usually 3 words that appear in the same sentence !

Would you like details of the patented MTC numberplate mounting system to set your new Silver beastie off to its best effect.

I bet you are like the kiddie that has the keys to the sweet shop at the moment.

OK Red, I'll let you into the secret.

It's that easy that even I can do it.

Before the dealers fix on your new plate, ask them to take off the numberplate mount (It's held in place by two bolts).
Remove the numberplate mount.
Turn the mount upsidedown.
replace using the same bolts in the same holes.
Now mount the numberplate to the mount.

If your dealer is a completely useless muppet (and I've seen several done this way), he will take off the numberplate mount and screw the plate directly to the bumper. On the cars that I have seen with this done it looks like someone has spent over £25K on a car and then had it vandalised by a yob.
If the dealer has done that to you, ask for the mount back and affix your self.

Total time for job 2 minutes.
Cost (except for pint for Murphy) Nil
Overall effect - vast improvement.

partially obscured grill with standard fitment VS MTC's patented numberplate mount

The prosecution rests it's case.

MTC

p.s. you can only do the mout this way with a CRD. The CRD has extra cutouts for the original "prongs" to go through (not obvious in the above picture). The Silver car on the left is a 3.5lt petrol. BTW the picture was taken in February.
