Lightbulb Anyone changed their stereo from stock?

Wondered if anyone in the UK has swapped their standard stock radio/CD unit out for an aftermarket head unit and what they went for?

Looking for ideas and suppliers/fitters in either Kent or in Lancashire. I already have the Boston speaker upgrade but would like a H/unit which incorporates SatNav, Blue Tooth and camera/laser detector (a one box stop shop!)

Thanks in advance

Aftermarket Sat Nav Install.

Hi all 1st post. Proud Owner of 57 300c CRD Saloon. Mineral Grey.

I am in the process of fitting an aftermarket Sat Nav, the Kenwood DNX 7200. Adding Bluetooth and Ipod connectivity. I had been told by several install companies that it was not possible to do this type of fit. After three weeks of detective work I now have all the required parts in place. Fitting will take place next week. I will post once it is finished and let anyone interested know how I got on.

All of my mirrors vibrate, but then I guess it's my fault for having the volume around 30!!

Aftermarket SatNav Install Completed.

Got my 300 back today with the Kenwood DNX 7200 installed. I also added the Ipod and USB connection with Handsfree Bluetooth. All working with no problems to report. The unit is fairly straightforward to use and I am pretty happy with the overall quality. I can now stick in a DVD crammed with MP3s,
have the SatNav do its thing and answer the phone which sits in the glove compartment all with no fuss and no wires. I was told 3 weeks ago that this fit was not possible to do. If anyone else is interested or if I am allowed to post I can let you what cables are required and where to get them. I had the unit fitted at Beaver Car Audio in Glasgow, these guys really know what they are doing and I would recommend that you seek out a fitter who knows what they are doing. I am very pleased with the result it cost just over £1300 but compared to the factory fit option (with no postcode entry etc) at £1800 I think it is well worth it.

Hi florin m.

I don't seem to be able to send PM's. Too far down the food chain. I am happy to post the details but unsure if MODS would be happy as it involves companies not on the sponsor list. I will post what I think will help you. If it offends the Mod I apologise in advance.

Hi Florin m,

You will need the follwing parts to fit a double din unit to your 300c they can be obtained from,

In Car Technologies Ltd., Charwell House, Wilsom Road, Alton, Hampshire GU34 2PP, United Kingdom
Tel - 01420 540277 Fax - 01420 540273

23-204 Chysler CAN radio module £79.00
23-033 CAN steering wheel interface £49.00
23-032 Kenwood steering interface £49.00
50-304 Double DIN facia for 300c £17.00
21-105 Antenna adapter £5.90

In addition to this you will need an original Chrysler navigation intrument bezel panel £64.00. From Chrysler Dealer

I had the Kenwood DNX 7200 SatNav unit fitted with Bluetooth handsfree, USB connection and Ipod connection. It may be possible to fit other units. The fitting was carried out by Beaver Car Audio Glasgow. The Steering controls work for volume control and as the Kenwood unit is touch screen I dont find that I need the Wheel control to do any more than that. Hope this is of help.
