3.5 V6 Saloon Withdrawn From UK Market?

According to the Chrysler UK website the only 300C models now available to the UK market are the 3.0 V6 CRD Saloon & Touring and the SRT-8 Saloon & Touring.

Correction:

I think the heading should have read Touring.

Your right the only options now are CRD and SRT8

The 3.5 was as unloved as the Hemi and in my experience of them equally as thirsty in every day driving give or take 1 or 2 mpg

When I was buying my CRD from the local dealer, I took one out for a test drive, and was so impressed with the refinement and the performance that I asked why people would opt for the 3.5V6 over the CRD. The salesman said that a few people still can't bring themselves to go Diesel.

I suspect that there weren't many people in that position though, since he also told me, IIRC, that they had recently taken a large delivery of petrol versions as a condition of getting the CRDs that they wanted. It sounded as though Chrysler were having trouble selling them, and certainly the resulting discounts supported that theory.

And the discounting........

The sales guys at MK confirmed the end of 3.5 and 5.2 today, but they have been given huge discount to play with - they had a full spec black touring 5.2 in the showroom and were giving nearly £5k off brand new. Another dealer has taken 4 3.5 petrols and expects to sell them for £22k new. On the other hand CRD's with 10-15K on the clock are going for £24.5K and nobody is budging on the price.

In Friday's Times, a well-known car supermarket was advertising a brand new CRD from £22999.

Looking at the spec its the base model ie. no sat nav etc. This may explain the price; I think most people want the satnav. The black one is £23,499.
