Replacement wheels what to treat them with ?

Hi Everybody, Murray motors is replacing my wheels today (and the dashboard) but my question is .... when I get it back what do people recommend coating the new wheels in so that they are better protected and easier to clean for the future.

Cheers

Hi Stig

I've used Autoglym 'Alloy Wheel Seal', which comes in a spray can. I can't be sure what they'd be like without this, but I can confirm that the brake dust and dirt wash off with just soapy water - no need for a potentially corrosive wheel cleaner.

I did, if only to make sure that the inside was good and clean before I applied the wheel seal.

I just wanted to add that pretty much any wax or sealant that you'd use on your car will help protect your wheels. They do make waxes specifically designed for wheels though. Here's just one of them, but I'm sure there are many more - WheelWax - Home.

My wheels had a crazed (like spiderweb) lines coming off the spokes (but not on the leading edges) the dealer took a few photos and said this was a common problem and got me 4 new wheels, these new ones look to be made completely different even tho the spokes are shiny the rest looks powdercoated.

Cheers
