Diesel fuel.....V-Power Roll out UK wide

I had an e-mail from Shell today announcing the UK roll out of V-Power Diesel after as successful pilot in the SE of the UK. My Brabus SLK has been using V Power (aka Optimax until recently) 99 Octane petrol for some time and its superb,. Does anyone have any experience of V-Power Diesel in the SE? Northampton is just a shade to far north to have gotten it yet!

I've only used V-Power once and that was on a half and half basis with some BP Ultimate.

FWIW, I'm really undecided on the merits/advantages of 'extra' fuels.
I only ever put in proper diesel from a real petrol/diesel station (not from a supermarket anymore) and from each tank of fuel, in mixed motoring, I get 35mpg. However, if I know that I'm going on a long trip, I'll fill up with BP Ultimate for the fiillup one before I fuel up for the trip (does that make sense ?) because I'm sure that the extra cleaning additives that is in the 'premium' fuel certainly don't to any harm, and help keep everything clean and lovely.
On recent 350 mile trip to Suffolk, I got 43 mpg which was pretty damned good going IMO and which would have given me over 800 miles from a single tankful.

Performancewise, I honestly couldn't tell you if the car is any quicker using 'premium' stuff, but it is certainly smoother and quieter - not enough for Mrs Cat to notice, but enough for me to tell the difference.

Is it worth the extra 25-25p per gal ? for me, the juries still out.

p.s. Arnies favourite 'regular' fuel is Esso, followed by Shell, then BP, then Texaco.
