Braking Vibration - Sorted

Like quite a few other owners (worldwide) I've experienced vibration under braking (see numerous other threads and postings). Finally got around to doing something about it, and have had a great result:
* Rang garage last Friday (Anthony Betts, Watford) & car booked in this Tuesday.
* Garage phoned Tuesday lunchtime to say discs (rotors) needed replacing as they were distorted, & pads would also have to be replaced.
* ....and now for the good news: Chrysler would be replacing the discs/rotors under warranty and that, although I would have to pay for new pads (I've done 18,000 plus since new) I wouldn't be charged any labour for fitting them.
* So, got the car back yesterday (Wednesday) afternoon, and total cost: £70
NB: I bedded my brakes in properly when I got the car...and I did it again (or rather, tried to) recently in an attempt to get rid of the vibration. In other words, this is a problem with the original discs/rotors which, in honouring the warranty, Chrysler has recognised. In this day and age, all I can say is, good for them and well done the garage!
Cheers. John W

What a damned good result.

The only problem that I've ever found with the brakes is if you are braking hard from a hypothetical speed like 125mph - under those circumstances, the brakes aren't anywhere like up to the job of slowing a 300C down.

I agree Murph...it's a big, heavy car and while at slow or middling speeds the brakes are adequate, at high speeds they're barely up to it ....when I went to pick up mine up from the garage after the disc replacements I had a close look at an SRT8, and that's got proper brakes - ref. one of your previous threads, if they do produce a souped up CRD I'd imagine the bigger SRT8 discs, pads & calipers would come with it.

ps. forgot to say that the garage, Anthony Betts, also cleaned my Touring immaculately inside and out after they'd carried out the warranty repair.

Cheers. John W
