Peebles - from Tuesday till Saurday

I've got the good fortune to be spending a few days in Peebles (near Edinburgh).

If anyone sees a black CRD with a mesh grille and mesh lower inserts (plus St Georges Crosses on the numberplates ) its me - if you get the chance, say hello.

Crikey Murph, this is a bit of a coincidence: we're driving up from London tomorrow afternoon, and we'll be back and forth between Duns, Galashiels and Selkirk from Thursday morning 'till Sunday afternoon (helping the mother-in-law move from her flat to a residential home). Normally on a trip to the Borders we would visit Peebles, because my couzins leave 2 miles outside at Cardrona. However, they are currently away, and we're on such a tight schedule I fear we just won't get there this time....However, in honour of your presence in the region I will, on this occasion, fly Cross of St George flags from the wing mirrors from my black CRD Touring....the fact that my wife is a dyed-in-the-wool Scot might present a few problems, but we'll just have to deal with that...

Cheers. John W

Are you pair trying to provoke Alec Salmond? St Georges Cross flags indeed - remember you are on our side of Hadrian's Wall - and the Scottish Government has the restoration work out to tender. Seriously though, you are all welcome to visit with us and we do forgive you for past injuries (well almost). Hope you both enjoy your stay and the weather is kind to you.
Cheers John

What a grand time I had in Peebles/Edinburgh - but the 300C still isn't a regular site on the roads in that part of the world. I only saw one all the time I was about (in Bonnybridge today) -- and as for the comments from a chap at the hotel, it would have been rude to shatter his illusions about Arnie being a Bentley - just like the two that his father owns !

Good to hear you enjoyed yourself in the cradle of civilisation Murph. I had my CRD down to Peebles in late July and the Stag down there a couple of weeks ago. You do get a nice lunch in the Crown Hotel opposite the Tontine - bang centre of the town. Come back and see us all again sometime.
Cheers John
