Keyed car - repair advice required

Passengers side, from start of wing to rear wheel arch a long wide-ish scratch, seems to have gone through the lacquer but not down to the metalwork. If you draw a fingernail across the scratch it doesn't feel very deep but it's definitely there.

Any advice on concealment? Removal? Anyone recommend a company who can help polish out/touch it up? Or a product which might do the job instead?

Any advice welcome, I am located in Guildford Surrey.

I use Maguiars Scratch X for scratches. For anything that is too deep I have used Chips Away before and they were good. Honest John (Honestjohn: Frequently Asked Questions) lists a whole bunch more companies. There are also DIY kits from Halfords and I have seen v good DIY jobs elsewhere on the 300 site.

Havn't these idiots who scratch cars seen Vinnie Jones in the Commercial!

If you do know a good body man close to you go see him as it is potentially the safest course of action, I did so after picking up a car park scuff to the front end and a free invisible repair was done with some 2000 grit w/d paper and very skilled hands.

Sorry to learn of your mishap, 3Hundred. This is one of the reasons I'm paranoid about parking. I had some minor (parking-my fault) body damage repaired a few months back by Solus (Guildford). They are on the Slyfield estate - along with lots of other useful auto businesses. You will find them in the Phone book. Solus are owned by Norwich Union. I was very pleased with their repair, which is completely invisible.

Thanks, went and got a quote from ChipsAway, they reckon they'll machine polish it and it'll get rid of the "blemish". Thanks everyone it was an upsetting sight to see my beauty defiled!
