I'm on my third Chrysler, the last two filled on the drivers side (rt), but this one is on the other side. So it's nothing to do with nationality or even branding!

Mine current vehicles are evenly split:

1950 Ford Tudor: left (first hidden gas cap on a Ford)
1997 FordMustang: right
2005 Chevy Equinox: right
2005 Chrysler 300C: left

No rhyme or reason over 55 years!

The filler cap position on our 300C's in the UK is perfect, as most cars on the UK are on the drivers side, it means I don't have to queue so long for a pump!!

stating the obvious I know, but I only noticed to day that there is a little arrow by the picture of the fuel pump pointing to the left. I wonder if any of my previous cars had that ? no idea

it was only last week that I discovered the label with the tyre pressures on the door pillar, because it said in the manual, are all cars like that? never noticed one before.

regards

Yep, every car has the arrow next to the fuel pump on the dash to tell the driver where the fil cap is located !

My Audi A4 doesn't have this arrow and just to confuse things further, the pump symbol is located on the left of the fuel gauge whilst the filler cap is on the right. On the Audi, the tyre pressure info is on the filler cap flap.

The Dodge Caliber is a guessing game for the fuel filler. The pump hose symbol on the fuel guage is on the right and the filler cap on the left
