Corroded 300C Badges - CRD 2007

Anybody noticed there 300C badges corroding. Looks like water has got behind the clear plastic and discoloured the grey part and tarnished the chrome. Its going back to the dealer for a service soon, so I will ask to have them changed.

I'm getting my ones replaced on Tuesday. Dealer took some photos and sent them off to DCUK for authorisation. No problems at all.

Mine were all replaced under warranty at 12 months – no problems at all – except the two hour wait in the dealers reception while the did the work

Put my car in to get them done today ..... and what a bollox up.

One of the badges is about 1cm out of place, and doesn't line up with the "powered by startech" logos, and the paintwork is all scratched round about where they've taken the old ones off. On 2 of the badges, they've actually punctured the paintwork where they have prized the old ones off.

I am absolutely f***ing livid and am going in to see them tomorrow.

I asked for the badges so I could do a proper job myself, but they refused and said they had to do it as it was warranty.

Bloody hell.

That is chronic workmanship, does nobody ever check these things before they go out (as if it were there own car) and come down like a ton of bricks on these so called skilled mechanics ?

Good luck on getting it rectified

Wouldn't have been so bad if they hadn't punctured the paintwork, I could have just heated them off then polished the area and stuck them back on again.

I'm going to the top on this one, funny thing is, the service depot is also John Martin bodyshop but they can't tell me at this stage which dept actually done the job.

I'm looking forward to tomorrow, will be taking the wife for the extra snarl effect

Give em Hell!

I must admit I used the JM bodyshop in Perth about 18 months ago for a little repair work when someone ran into my front wing, including getting my mudflaps colour keyed, and I cannot complain about the finish.

Except for the man who came to collect my car on a low loader who would have scraped the front spoiler off if I hadn't put blocks down - and insisted on driving the car onto the truck myself!

I'm the one with the receding hair line driving my beast onto the truck - ironically (how sad am I) I asked my mrs to take photos in case he damaged my (virtually new then) pride & joy.

See these wood blocks Just - bring them with you to New Lanark. There is one sleeping policeman when you turn down from the main square in New Lanark to head for the hotel - a "normal" 300C has no bother passing over it if driven slowly but for those with a front chin spoiler - we will certainly make arrangements to have wood strips for ramps there. That is the only sleeping policeman in the whole place!!
Good luck Pimp in getting your badges sorted out - there is no excuse for that kind of workmanship - almost as bad as my experience with Mercedes Ayr - which is why I bought the Chrysler.
Cheers John
