Noisy front suspension

Hi

I am having my first service tomorrow, only fault to complain of is the auto up drivers window only sometimes works (even after doing the holding of the button fix). The other slight worry is the noise of the front suspension when going over a meduim sized road hump at more than 10mph, it sound very loud and "not right". I can obviously go over these below 10mph to not get the noise but I was wondering if this has been noticed by anyone else?

Cheers

Hi, haven't noticed the noisy suspension but certainly have the intermittent problem with the auto windows. Let us know how you get on at the dealership as I'm having my wheels replaced on Monday and may well mention the problem as well.

Hi,

its funny you should mention this, I have noticed that when my car is on full lock reversing out of my or my parents driveway, I sometimes get a clunk as it drops down the inch or so off the run up/cross over into the road itself.

I was not too alarmed about this as my Mazda 6 did it too, but it has been bothering me.

I also have a Rover 214 (Dont ask) and used to have a Lotus Elise neither of those done it.

Steve.

Regarding the auto up window problem - I had this when I first got the car. Back to the dealership who put in a new "sensor" on the driver's door. It didn't make any difference. Took it back in and showed them together with a N American TSB which suggested that it could be a problem with static blowing the sensor from body movement over the seat. However nothing daunted the garage reckoned that the cure was to replace both the driver's door sensor AND THE PASSENGER DOOR SENSOR at the same time. They took the car back in and apparently did that - that was back in September and the window auto up feature has been fine ever since. You should speak to the garage before it goes in - give them a chance to order in the parts.
For some strange reason I can occasionally get a clunk from the front suspension when turning on full lock in a car park with a painted surface. However I used to get exactly the same knock from my Merc at exactly the same part of the car park - so I don't reckon it is anything to worry about.
Hope this helps.
Cheers John

What's this about wheels? Lots of us seem to have complained of wheel corrosion.

My suspension creaks, like an old bed front and back, over bumps. It seems worse when its cold and there's salt on the road.

You may need to grease your front sway bar bushings. My Hotckis sways made the same noise and needed grease. But it appears from your pic that you may have the stock sway bars, which shouldn't need grease.
