2008 model telemute lead car kit

Hi All

I am a new user, so please bear with me.

I have a new 2008 model 300c crd and I purchased an autolead telemute cable for my bluetooth car kit.

Having used this site to help me remove the stereo, I discovered that the cable connections are different.

I have the standard radio (not mygig), and it looks like when they changed the type of radio, they also decided to change the shape of the plugs.

Whilst I appreciate that it is a new model, I am hoping someone will have a solution to the problem

I think you will be struggling on this one for a response 2008. New model and most of us will be out our depth on it. I posted a welcome to you under your other posting - check it out. Welcome again, anyway!!! By now you should feel pretty welcome!!
Cheers John

It might be worth having a look on the Autoleads website (but buy from Sextons website, it's cheaper) to see if they have anything listed for the 08 model.

Welcome by the way!

Hi Stef

Thanks for the reply, I have tried both suggestions, and it appears it is just too soon, I did come up with the idea of ordering a spare radio male plug and retro fit it to the lead I have, but I still need to find the female end (like the radio), I have fitted the kit as a stand alone , but does not mute radio or use the car's speakers so I am not going to give up

Stef, it needs to be said, your 300 looks very very good, I am sure you have got used to the compliments by now.

I will post pictures of my 300 as soon as I work out how to do it, I hope people will think I am doing it for informative reasons of the changes Chrysler have made, rather than me boasting!!

Thanks for the comments, I saw your photo's on the other post, very nice!

The only thing I don't like about the telemute kit is the fact that our stereos don't appear to have an ignition controlled live, so my car kit has to be 'switched on' manually, it does power off after a few minutes when the phone goes out of range or gets switched off though.

Stef

You can fix that problem with ease, you just have to connect the ignition swith cable from the car kit to the switched ignotion cable from the cigar lighter, and bigo, you are fully automatic

Yeah, good thinking! I fitted a new Blaupunkt booster aerial inside the front screen last weekend (I've been getting FM interference since fitting LED rear stop/tail bulbs) and picked up an ignition controlled live from one of the climate control connectors, so I could connect in to that too.

Thanks for the recommendation Gizmo, I will give them a call.

UPDATE

I have been to my local Car Stereo Alarm Shop etc... They have confirmed that currently there is no lead available, but for £85, they can rewire my car kit and my stereo and make it work ??

I had this vision of the fitter with a butchers cleaver in his hand, and then I had a vision of my boss with the same cleaver, very scary.

I think I will just have to be patient and wait for one
