That, sadly, is what scum like Darling and Brown rely on. Oh to prove them wrong!!

John by buying and driving our cars we are saying FU to them anyway or at least I am. I will not be forced off the road by any Politician and believe me they are all as bad as each other. If i have to sacrifice something like eating out less etc then I will do so. This type of policy turn will in turn harm the economy and eventually something will give. I am a patient man. As Sun Tzu says "If you wait by the river long enough, eventually you will see the bodies of all your enemies float by. For the moment enjoy what you have.

I've just got back from a couple of weeks in Dubai, and whilst there I hired a Chevrolet Lumina 3.6 V6 LS Automatic, (no 300C's available ) which to be honest was a bit of a pig and had seen some "action" having the battle scars to prove it. Over the period I managed to completely empty the tank covering about 700Km. My surprise came when I filled it up to return it to the hire company. I, well the little Asian petrol pump guy, put in 72 litres which cost me the princely sum of 92AED or £12.55 that's 17.4 ish pence per litre...........it makes you sick don't it.

Moving on, I saw a few nice examples of the 300C over there although didn't manage to get any photo's. I parked next to a Black Hemi at our apartment and saw a couple of SRT8's go flashing by. There are, as you would expect a lot of white examples although Startech (or any other goodie supplier) doesn't seemed to have reached the UAE as all where standard except for very dark tinted windows.

And yes I am very brown

Sometimes, the savings might be a lot, but you have to give up the joy of driving.... high fuel costs are just the price of happiness. So I stopped even looking at the price of gas, as some here may know, since I just like to drive this car instead of a fuel efficient Honda or the like.

Maybe that mindset might ease some of your pain... just trying to help...
exactly! right now it costs me about $130 to gas up and you already know how many miles you get with a full tank in the hemi if you drive it like you're supposed to

like you said, i stopped looking at the gas prices cause i want to have fun driving the car, otherwise i would have bought a diesel or something.

but you can actually still consider yourself lucky over there in the US, cause i'm paying like 1.45 euros per liter right now, that's about $2,30 per liter, thats liter not gallon!!

For all of our US friends thats $162.65. . .

TBH dont know how long i can go on justifying this spend!

I got 481 miles to that tankfull by the way

I work that out to be about 31mpg, does that sound right with what you would expect? What sort of driving do you do, motorway, town etc? What size of tank does the CRD have? I'm guessing 80litres (including reserve).

My old 7er was getting 15mpg, but I did love the sound of the V8!

My Hemi is doing 16mpg locally on LPG and 21(ish)mpg on a run on LPG. With LPG currently being half the price of diesel and Hemi's being available at reasonable money it's a no-brainer for me!
