mcelvogue,

just had my stock radio changed from the REG (single cd, no mp3) to the RAR (6 cd, with mp3) as mentioned by murphy, after 2 days of confusion with dealer over compatability, chrysler confirmed it was compatable, then it turned out it was in the accessories brochure on the website Page 11 all along.

anyhow its great, only think it doesnt have apart from satnav(which I dont need) is a AUX IN socket, which would have been nice, but it wasnt a dealbreaker.

have you got yours yet ?

regards

Hi Elpirata, I did get the upgrade, it does make a huge difference doesn't it? Strange as it may seem I think the radio is even better/clearer than the REG. I have to have a moan about the price though, €800 for what is a two year old model is a bit cheeky, fitting time was only 20 minutes though which was great.

All that said and done, it's great for now as I have 1500+ tracks to choose from, but I'm not looking forward to reorganizing my mp3 collection when I get tired of the current mix of music! It took me several evenings on my first attempt and I still find myself skiipping through tracks wondering "why did I include that track?"

Happy days!

mcelvogue,

I agree 800 euros is a rip off as is £500 over here, but i couldnt live with single cd and no mp3.

what is a "signature edition" how does it differ from my stock CRD ?

over here in Ireland it may be different to the uk, but it is basically a 300c crd with bentley grille, wood trim, rear bootlid spoiler, Chrysler logos on the foot of the door wells. They actually stopped selling the 300c crd standard model and only gave me the option of the signature series model.

Since I was going to get at least the grille changed anyway, it seemed like a good deal!

Ah, but which bit of Ireland is that - real Ireland or Ulster? I would have thought that Ulster would have had the same deals going as mainland UK - yes/no?
Cheers John

hi John, I'm in Dublin. I checked out the dealers in the north of Ireland and they were all UK models.

isnt it real rubbish that the RAR knows the track information for MP3's but not for CD's, you would thought that for £500 odd quid that at least you would know what song you are listening too on a CD.

other than that its blinding
