auto headlight mod on 07 build cars

before I damage my light switch levering off the knob, has anyone succesfully done the mod on a 07 build car, as there was a thread that suggested that chrysler had got wind of it and disabled the mod?

I had a go at getting the switch off by pulling with molegrips with fabric aroound the knob to stop scratching and by levering with a screwdriver with the head protected by fabric and there is not enough purchase to make it come off, I dont want to damage the switch if it doesnt work.

was thinking of buying an entire new switch, if chryler have stopped the mod will a new switch still work as an alternative.

regards

Hi, PM me an email adddress and I will send a word document with pictures etc. The switch is stiff to pull but you do not need to take it completely off. I just eased mine out a little ,sufficient to turn it one more to the left. I did not remove the lug behind the switch and I am able, by use of finger and thumb only, to tease it out enough to turn it back and forth.
