Chip Tuning Box Problem

Hi All

I recently bought a tuning box on ebay, it was second hand and was made by diesel tuner, so is a well known make.

When I plugged it in, the electronic throttle response sensor lights up, then flashes, when I unplug it, and put the car back to normal, the light goes out.

I tried driving it when the light was flashing and it was in limp mode

Is this because it is a 2008 model, is my engine different, if so how can i check aaaaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhhhh

Help please !!

I would have thought the 2008 CRD would have been the same. Your welcome to try it on my 2006 to see if it works ;-)

The person I bought it from assures me he used it on his 300c for two years, he has offered a full refund, but I would rather get it working somehow

That must have been the unit i was looking at on ebay. I was a bit sceptical as it looked different to the units on there website.

Are you sure it's connected in to the correct plugs?

That doesn't look right. The connector can only be reached by removing the engine cover, then remove the sound deadening foam rubber and then at the back of the engine (you are on the right side) you will see where the connector plugs on to the end of the silver fuel rail than runs from back to front. It can only go on one way.

Hi Stef

I have set up a new link 'help I'm a complete plank'

I have now managed to fit the chip with tose pictures, and it would seem that I was in the wrong place, the connectors were the same in my defence.

Thank you for your help, you are a legend....

I have taken it for a test drive, and I couldn't really notice a huge difference, there is a small brass screw in the box, any idea if this adjusts the wideness of my smile ?
