The 2009 Chrysler 300c Events (Updated 11/03/09) LOCH LOMOND, HAMPSHIRE, SANTA POD

As intended, this posting has now been changed to enable us to post details of all and any events throughout Europe. To have material posted on here please send me a PM and I will place it for you. I would suggest that once you start looking for numbers and responses we insert a link to an open posting to enable those attending to post and respond. This should provide an excellent method of promoting all forthcoming events.
Cheers John

Scottish Meeting Sunday 10th May 2009

SCOTTISH MEETING SUNDAY 10TH MAY 2009
For the 2009 Chrysler Scottish Meeting we have chosen the place most identified with Scotland – Loch Lomond. However, with something of a twist to it, as the spot we are going to is Loch Lomond Shores – an innocuous name for what is in effect a very smart and in fact unique shopping mall on the shores of Loch Lomond. The primary store in the mall is the famous Jenner’s of Princes Street, Edinburgh although there are a number of other “country” style shops and a rather smart restaurant “The Kilted Skirlie” where we will take lunch. For those only wanting a snack Jenner’s have a very nice cafeteria which, like the restaurant, affords views across the Loch towards Ben Lomond. The actual Loch is approximately 50 yards from where our cars will be parked. Have a look at http://www.lochlomondshores.com/index.htm to give you some idea of where we are going.
This venue provides something for everyone – there are trampolines for the kids and other amusements, an aquarium hosting fish worldwide, shops for the ladies – and scenery to die for!! If we are feeling flush we may even take a short run up the Loch-side and pop into the world famous Cameron House Hotel for a late afternoon drink.
The date we have set for the meeting is Sunday the 10th May – we tried, but were unable to get, the Bank Holiday date the week earlier – so please don’t turn up on the wrong weekend.
As this is a busy venue with the public, for health and safety reasons we will probably have to rendezvous on the approach road to the complex – which is also the road leading to the berth of the old “Maid of the Loch” the steamer which used to ply round the Loch carrying tourists and visitors – http://www.maidoftheloch.com/ - it is now undergoing extensive restoration and is currently in use as a café/bar – well worth a stroll to. From the approach road we will be escorted on foot by employees of the complex.. Our venue is right in the centre of the complex overlooking the Loch and adjacent to both our chosen restaurant and Jenner’s store.
Don’t be put off by the fact that Loch Lomond is north of Glasgow. We are at the very south-most end of the Loch at Balloch and the easiest route from Glasgow is west along the M8 on the south side of the River Clyde to the Erskine Bridge (now toll-free) across it and you by-pass Dumbarton and Alexandria to reach Balloch. From the centre of Glasgow to Balloch should take you around 20 minutes!!
This is an early notice to ensure that as many of you as possible come along. Although billed as a Scottish event we are always delighted to play host to visitors from England or further afield. You are all welcome!!

Latest update (23/11/08) is a link to a thread giving details of accommodation throughout the area and suitable for your attendance at this event. See http://www.300cforums.com/forums/eur...ay-2009-a.html This posting also contains links to video and still photographs showing the venue for the 2009 event and to give you further encouragement - videos and stills of the 2008 event at New Lanark
Cheers John

Hampshire Pageant of Motoring 30th & 31st August 2009

HAMPSHIRE PAGEANT OF MOTORING 30th & 31st AUGUST 2009
Well after this year’s “staggering” attendance of me, Derick, wirlinmerlin, and phil500000 at the Hampshire Pageant of Motoring

The organisers, knowing real class and a friendly bunch when they see it, have invited us back for their 2009 event, taking place on Bank Holiday Sunday 30th & Monday 31st August.

Whether you want to go for one day or two, this event is one for car enthusiasts as well as families and those would love a “craft fair” – this show has it all with many attractions

Here’s what the organiser says

· Over 90 club stands
· Free live entertainment to all exhibitors (that'll be us)on Sunday night (heated marquee)
· Cars for sale section (please phone for details)
· An enormous section of Autojumble
· Huge craft marquees
· 100s of trade stands
· 1st class arena programme
· Air displays
· New supercar section
· Catering for all tastes
· Showers
· Extra exit road

and much more to mention!

One thing I have learned from this year is that the entry times seem to be “flexible” so don’t be put off by them. I saw many cars arriving at around 10.00 am, so if you are traveling from a distance you can still come. Obviously if we can get everyone parked and the stand sorted ASAP all to the good.

Here are some pics of our 2008 stand

Here is some video of 2007 from the Dolomite Club and one of the less than obvious mod to a mini, the No Limitz Motorcycle Display Team, Jason Smyth Adrenaline Tour, MOTO-STUNTS INTERNATIONAL, UTTERLY BUTTERLY WINGWALKING DISPLAY TEAM all of which are on the 2009 programme

So if you fancy being on the stand (it's free) for one or both of the days, let me know so I can apply for the appropriate number of stand passes.

MEETING IN THE MIDDLE (SANTA POD 4th JULY)

MEETING IN THE MIDDLE

So as not to coincide with the LOCH LOMOND meeting in May or the HAMPSHIRE PAGEANT OF MOTORING meeting in August, a number of us have agreed to hold an additional meeting somewhere in between, and right bang smack in the middle of the UK.

A meeting has been arranged for Saturday 4th of July at Santa Pod Raceway.
We will have our own dedicated meeting area in the Pit area, so when you arrive, head over there, I'm sure we'll find it.
Apparently, it will be clearly marked.
Entrance to the race event is £10 per person.

You are welcome to enter your car in the public "Run What Ya Brung" event.. If you want to run, then there's a entrance fee of £25, this qualifies you for unlimited runs.

Your prize ??? ...........To be cheered on by the rest of us

If you would like to attend, please post a yes on the thread entiltled: Santa Pod.. UK Meeting July 4th 2009. Date Set.
This will allow us to inform Santa Pod of an estimated number of cars for our dedicated club area.

Santa Pod.. UK Meeting July 4th 2009. Date Set.
