LOL, if I hold my RPM at 2,000 on the brake and then floor it, I don't go anywhere and quickly disappear in a cloud of white smoke!

I don't think you require a skid lid in hard top cars. I know I had to wear one in my old 1970 mini cabrio and I had to have the roof up. It'll will probably tell you on there website.

I don't think the parking brake will be anywhere near strong enough Stig, I frequently drive off without noticing it...

Not that I want to be a doom merchant, but the weather doesn't look too promising for next weekend... Wellingborough-10-day Extended Weather Forecasts - weather.co.uk - think a contingency plan is in order?

according to metcheck.com, which I use all the time, and tends to be quite accurate, it says light showers, so I think we might be ok, and of course it can all change in this short space of time, lets not panic yet Mr Mannering

Weather forecasts a week ahead are highly unreliable. I'll put more faith in it if we get to the date and it says it is actually raining, but yesterday the BBC web site said we had heavy showers all day in Nottingham, but it was hot and sunny without a drop of rain! Definitely too soon to be worrying what the weather forecasters are guessing.

On a different issue, what is the situation regarding insurance? My policy specifically excludes any kind of track use, and I imagine that is fairly standard. Can you buy day cover at the track?

I'll set up a contingency, just incase it rains
I have a pub in mind, I'm waiting for the landlord to call me back.
It might be worth us going there after the meeting for a bite to eat anyway ??

Well the weather isn't looking too good for Northampton on Saturday.. I guess things can still change.
Just as bad.. my contingency plan hasn't come to fruition yet.
I'll give him another call tomorrow.

It will probably turn out a lovely day. The weather forecasts are hardly ever correct.

According to metcheck, there is a small chance of very light showers in the afternoon, but it will still be warm, I'm sure it will be fine
