Contingency Plan - Confirmed

OK.

I have a contingency plan.
If the race meeting is rained off, the kind people at the Wollaston Inn have said we can meet there.

Due to thier very accomodating nature, I have suggested that should the race meeting go ahead as planned, we meet back there for a few lemonades at 3pm anyway, just to say thank you for allowing such short notice.

The Wollaston Inn - Home

I'm also considering some sort of prize (at my own expense) for maybe the best voted turned out car, or the fastest down the strip, or the furthest travelled.. etc etc.. I'm sure I'll come up with something.

Have fun chaps (whatever you do in the end).
My situation has firmed up now, and I definitely won't be able to go.

The pub looks good, and does food all day - I was reluctant to committ to "a bite to eat" with the little one as I thought we'd be talking evening - in any case, even if only a drink would be a good idea, thanks Keat.

I've come up with the 2 competitions. both of which contrast each other.

1. The scabbiest wheels challenge cup.
2. The Best voted turned out car trophy tray.

Rules:
Challenge Cup: Anyone caught deliberately sand papering wheels, prior to even start will be instantly disqualified. Deliberate Curbing, grinding or filing is also disallowed. Picking off loose laquer will be allowed, but excessive picking may be seen as deliberate sabotage, resulting in a disqualification. Scantilly clad young ladies in short skirts and stilloe heels are allowed to pick as much laquer off as the judge deems fit, or until his head explodes.

Trophy Tray: In the style of Scrapheap Challenge, 1 hours tinkering time will be allowed, however, trade polishing secrets have to be divulged to other competitors, other wise, this could be construde as empire building, resulting in an instant disqualification. No soap sodden babes in bikinis will be allowed to wash cars, unless we can all get inside 1st.

Prizes will be awarded at the Woolaston Inn around 3pm (maybe earlier if the weather is poor)
