Hi from a new UK owner

Hi everyone.

Just stuck this on main board and been advised to visit visit here,

I have just become the proud owner of a new Steel Blue 3.5. I bought it to replace my old 735i and I'm very happy with my choice.

It came with a very nice set of 22" rims and the first priority will be to drop it an inch or two possibly followed by a custom dual SS exhaust.

I intend to keep it for some time so I will be a regular visitor here when I'm home

Cheers for the welcome!
That Diablo Predator looks like a very useful mod although it will be next year before I consider it.
I would like to fit a dual S Steel exh system, the Magnaflow looks pricey and I would prefer single pipes. A custom made system would probably be a better option.

I will be out of the country from next week for 12 weeks and will be laying the car up. In the past I have always just chocked the car with the parking brake off and disconnected the battery, never had a problem. Does anyone know if there are any issues doing this with the 300? e.g. the alarm.
I will have to wait until I get home to really get a chance to give my newly aquired car a good try out

I'll hopfully be more active on here when I return.

The Startech exhausts sounds nice on 3.5

I always leave mine in park with the handbrake off providing I'm not on a hill and have had no problems.

Cheers Lambournkoi,

I probably should start a new thread to ask these questions but I've started now

I was mostly concerned with disconnecting the battery as I'l lbe away for 3 months or more. On my Beemer I have to make sure the alarm is disabled or the alrms internal battery sets it off when the car battery is disconnected. Reading the manual a,m I right in assuming UK cars are fitted with the Premium system? It is not clear, to me at least, if or how to do this.

One easy way to find out if it has battery back up is to disconnect the battery and see if the alarm goes off. You can disable the interior motion sensors on the alarm by remote locking the doors and press the lock button another 3 times.
