20 inch Startechs

I have 20 inch startechs on the car, the rears are shod with 275 35ZR20s but the fronts are only wearing 245 40ZR20s.
So the front rims stick out further than the rubber which is a high curb nightmare. Can I get some wider rubber up front or is there a reason for the skinny rubber.

Ironically, this is why I took my Startech's off. if you check the overall diameters, you'll actually find that 275/40-20 rear and 245/45-20 front are a perfect match to the original 225/60-18 and fill the arches nicely, but 245/45-20 tyres are horrendously expensive.
You could, at a push, fit 275/35-20 to the front and 275/40-20 to the rear without upsetting the traction control and ABS systems too much (in fact, you'd actually benefit as it would allow slightly more real-time "slip" on the rears as they would, in effect, be playing catch-up to the fronts by around 3%). This would give a cheaper solution, but whether the tyres would produce too much road sparay up the sides of the car is another matter.
I've opted for 255/55-18 Hankook Ventus RH06 on the original rims - handles as good as the 20's and still has the ride comfort of the narrow 18's.

Badger,275's on Startechs wont fit on the front, its too close to the front strut, thats why they put 245's on the front and they are stretched and thats why they wear on the outer edges so quickly

275 pirellis fit front and back no problem and dont touch anywhere. ran them for over a year. only reason why i have changed is i now have a set of monster wide 22" so have now shod the startechs with a narrow winter tyre with a heavier tread so it does better in the snow and keeps the chromies nice.
but to answer your question they fit no probs, dont rub and dont clip the strut either.

Hmm - so why the difference in opinion between Ray and Russell I wonder. Is it down to the difference between the suspension setups of the SRT8 and the 5.7?

it depends on the offset on Russ' wheels,in his sig he says his wheels have 5" lips,so I'm presuming his offset is way more than Startechs,my wheels have a 2" lip.275's will fit on my wheels on the front but they wont fit with Startechs as they dont have much offset and they run really close to the front suspension arm

But Russell's post implied he had been running 275s on his Startechs. Clarification please Russell.

plain and simple they do not fit they touch the arm , I found out the hard way by buying a set, fitting them, only to find they dont fit on the front
