That is odd. Either mine is different insides in the same case, or I was lucky then. Mine looks identical to this one, and cost about the same. It works 100% on my diesel 300C. Every function works. It read the codes when my swirl port motor went, it resets the MIL, it reads live data, etc.

Admittedly, its the only diesel I have used it on. All the others have been petrols.

Best not take the risk if that's what it says then. I bought mine when I had my V8 MG (and it was fine on that as well !!) so I did not notice in the listing if it mentioned diesels.

I wonder if its just a case of not being optimised for diesels by the omission of some parameters which may be unique to diesels - eg Manifold Absolute Pressure and DPF sensors. Or it could be that the device has not been fully tested on diesels? I've now ordered the Bluetooth reader, as recommended by Rambit, but this device doesn't even have Chrysler in the list of applicable vehicles!

ive just bought this one as recomended from ebay,and it doesnt work.it keeps saying "link error". ive followed the instructions,still the same.Am i doing something wrong,or have i just wasted my money.All i want to do is turn off the mil light.

I have the same one and it works fine on my car, I have only had link error when I forgot to turn the ignition on. I would have thought its a bad connection (try wiggling the plug a bit in the socket) or perhaps a faulty unit.

Guys, I've just received mine (this one New U480 Universal OBD2 CAN BUS Fault Code Reader Scanner diagnostic cable tool | eBay )
And all I keep getting is link error so I tried it on my brothers car and my step dads cars this afternoon and it worked fine with both their cars, what am I doing wrong?
I can't push the connector on any harder than it is and it does light up and start cycling through the different types then after that is display link error?

Any ideas?
