Hi Guys, I had forgotten all about swirl actuators as mine was done twice under warranty the klast time over 2 years ago. That is till today, I have just had a delivery guy in with a large machine and we got talking he has 3 Mercedes 311 cdi Luton Vans and guess what he has 2 of them off the road they are 2008 reg and he has a limp mode problem. So of course I told about the problems that we have experienced with the 300C and about the new resistor cure. So he went on his way a very grateful guy and will let me know if the problem is the same. He also asked me to mention his thanks to all the guys who have posted on our forum re curing this problem. Well done the 300c Forum

swirl motor -cheap replacement

Hi!
Yesterday I got my Auto Enginunity complete with the enhancement and scaned my car for errors after I had the ETC light flashing and the MIL on for the last 5 weeks. By the way I got my 3OO C 2007 6 weeks ago. Mileage reads 48600. Regretfully to say I am very disappointed with the situation.
I got the following DTC numbers P2015, P1270, P0676. P0674, P0672 and P053a (undocumented error)!
Yesterday I was happy to read, thanks to this forum that there is a cheap solution to solve this problem. Today I eliminated the swirl motor and fitted a resistor as recommended.
Both error codes P2015 and MIL were cleared on completion. I haven't tested the car on the road yet but the engine sounds to be running well. But a new code P2010 has been diagnosed! Even the MIL is once again on. Please can someone advice if the new error is due to the modification? Re the cylinder glow plugs I am not that much concerned. For the time being I don't have any problems with starting.

Check the wiring harness carefully and make sure it has not rubbed through on the air con pipes alongside the engine, when it happens it will throw up loads of codes.

At a glance it does not show any wear. But I'll check further.
Thanks

Dtc 2010

I have fitted the resistor as recommended and I am very happy to clear the swirl motor issue. But regretfully to say now I ended with the MIL on and a new code P2010 - Intake Manifold Runner (swirl) control circuit high. Is this related to the resistor fitted (4.7 ohms) or something else?
Any suggestions will be very much appreciated.

As neilvha says, should be a 4K7 ohm resistor.

The resistor installed is as quoted 4.7 ohms. I'll get the correct resistor as recommended by your goodself.
With the swirl motor eliminated how does it effect the engine's performance ?
Installation of a catch can is still recommended?
