Feels great just seeing it parked on the drive!

The only thing I am still a little nervous about is fuel consumption, I know I'm probably being stupid to worry,(and our US cousins will be laughing) It only has just over 200 miles on the clock, the EVIC is showing 29.7 average since last fill, and I've been driving very carefully. I will need to brim it again when I've done a few more miles. I suppose I probably need to give it a good long steady run of a couple of hundred miles to get a real impression of what its going to do.

Just need to decide now what to do about bluetooth without damaging the dashboard etc. Quite like the idea of the Parrot you mentioned BB.

Cant wait to see your pics BB, and yours Geordie when yours finally arrives.

Cheers

Never Fret Just! Like the moggy mentions (you like that murph?) 30 mpg before running in is fantastic. If your Flash update hasn't been done it's AMAZING!

Parrot is fantastic, we fit this to our demos, and can sit just beside the stereo no problems. Motorola handsets seem to work best with the unit and go for the one with the screen!

Bentley, don't hold your breath for the DVLA you'll only be dissapointed! Is your number on a car at present or on retention?

Geordie, worth checking with your dealer, 300 shipments are all over the place at present with dates moving up and down the calendar a bit like a W*$res drawers! We had 2 units due about 2 weeks apart but DC seem to be trying to match the build dates to reduce shipping costs. It's also worth watching that your dealer isn't planning to register your vehicle in March and deliver it in April. This is no problem if you know about it but can prove an unpleasant surprise when the V5 arrives!

sleek super sexy moggy would be good.

If it influenced DVLA's sloth like progress through treacle. My numberplate needed transfeering from The Dog (My old Rover) to Arnie (the Beast).

Boring post!!!

Plates on a vehicle at present seem to take the longest to process. I suppose this is understandable as two cars need their details altered. Plates on retention are somewhat sharper at arriving as most of the work has been done.

Best of all are new (never been on a car) numbers. These seem to move through DVLA like a dose of prune juice through your Mothers Mother!

We found out today that DVLA will include cherished numbers on the AFRL system from autumn this yaer. This will allow AFRL dealers to complete the transfer on site without involving the DVLA local office.

I presume Murph you are referring to the Slothiest sloth moving somewhat slowly through the treacle that was rejected for being too treacly!

Hey there Belmont...

Thanks for the 'horses mouth' advice. I have a cherished reg on retention which I was not going to transfer to the new beast straight away. I will let my dealer know not to register the car until I have 'decided' whether or not I am going to use the cherished number!

BTW...congrats on achieving your senior membership status!

Many thanks Belmont & Murphy for putting my mind at rest! I'm going to relax now & really enjoy this superb machine!

Good excuse for a trip down to the North East of England at the weekend to catch up with some friends (hopefully no snow this weekend) and let the beast stretch its legs (under 3,000 rpm of course).

Belmont - Don't suppose you could post a pic of the siting of the Parrot on one of your demos if you get a chance over the next couple of weeks?

BB - you back from that run out yet....? What do you reckon, I bet you're grinning now like the rest of us. Aren't the Xenons superb - you seem to hardly need main beam, I love the way they seem to click up and down with the levelling mechanism as you pull away & slow down.

Cheers

Bloody hell Geordie

well spotted. Let me add my congatulations to Belmont as well.

Now all we have to do is to get Belmont to stop posting the gloats about the
(non) performance of the English Rugby Team.

Regarding the Slothiest sloth moving somewhat slowly through the treacle that was rejected for being too treacly that is the operating speed of the DVLA, have a laugh at this explanation of the length of time that it takes to do the work.
"originally, we used to do the work within the day, sometimes within a few hours. But in the interests of customer efficiency and our increased customer service and new customer focussed method of operations, it now takes 5 working days - but it may take longer" and I'm not making it up.

BB was last seen looking for a newsagent that was open.

He'd heard that there was a good one in Wales and well, it's only 100 or so miles to get there (& then a 100 or so to get back).

Well I've now ascertained that the EVIC (Software version 4.07) is definitely reading in US mpg as it shows - switching from metric to US - that 7.9 litres / 100km is the same as 29.7 mpg (on my run back from Geordie's territory in North East England tonight). That's about 35.7 UK mpg on my estimation.

I vowed not to even select the EVIC fuel consumption screen again until I'd covered about 2000 miles, but I just wanted to know. I am now well happy.

I also used the "Easter Egg" display for the first time, which is a nice talking point & interesting to see, especially the graphic rpm & speed.

Extremely satisfied with the car so far & looking forward to many happy miles ahead.
