Driveway Oil Cleaner

Can anyone recommend any good products to break down and remove Mobil 1 engine oil from a fancy brickwork drive? I thought I had managed to clear it with what I had but it wasn't quite good enough.

Before someone asks, no I hadn't changed the oil and dropped it on the drive , some vandal illegally entered my property, and intentionally poured a whole bottle of my new mobil 1 oil all over the entrance to my drive!!

Try pouring a bottle of good quality washing up liquid over the oil, let it sit a while, they scrub with a scrubbing brush and hose off with water. It might take a couple of goes, but it should clean it up.

I used boiling hot water direct from kettle with Fairy liquid concentrate and give it a brush then hose away. Take care you don't scold your toes from the splashes if your swearing sandals though......lol

I've used a product made by Swarfega with some success, although removing every last trace can be problematical.

Damn and here was I thinking I could wear my flimsy gold toe post sandals and show off my shellac painted toe nails

Cold water from a hose pipe works fine.

I would use gunk and hot/warm water

I've seen that one advertised, in fact i've seen so many different products claiming to do the same thing that's why I thought i'd ask on here to see what works best.

I went originally out on the Friday night and jetwashed down as much as I could using a trigger spray oil spot cleaner i'd previously bought as I didn't want my poor postie to go base over apex. Although I did disperse it and stop it being slippery it just hasn't done much else...

Try the fairy liquid, I have used it several times to clean up spilled oil. Gunk will not work on trmac, it melts it, would be fine on bricks or cement, but it stinks a bit.
