spoke too soon

What did I say about the wifes Megane last week.
Gone 8 years without so much as a hickup... well that put the mockers on it, didn't it.
It started misfiring today.
So far, I've swapped the plugs and one coil pack.. then moved the (now spare) coil pack from cylinder to cylinder, but t's still misfiring.
Trouble is, it seems to go away when the engine is warm, so I'm stuffed now until tomorrow night.

bu99er..

My mother-in-law had a Megane, coil went every other week... Renault's advice was not to drive it for short journeys, as that was the cause...!

Good luck with yours, just don't let the Mrs go on short journeys!

ha ha.. if its short journeys that does it, then it's taken 8 years to rear it's ugly head.. it only ever does a mile to work and back, and home for dinner.
Oh and the occasional 5 mile run to Asda.
And if she thinks I'm taking it to work, she can Neddy.. she aint having the C to park in a car park full of W*m*n drivers... no way

We had a 'W' reg Scenic from new (2000). All the coils went over a period of 18 months. AA men said it was their most common Scenic/Megane call-out problem.
