I'm a paramedic and my wife and I run an embroidery business as well. I have been digitising for about 11 years and we have sent caps, as in baseball caps, to a bloke in California who was selling them at some beach and I have done some work for a trucking company in Florida as well.
Actually, when I have some time to spare, I am going to do up some Chrysler 300C logos on my seat covers and something for a dash mat. I'll post some pics when I finish them. Just don't hold your breath waiting.
I feel fortunate to have been in the Motorsport industry for 20 years, where I have had the opportunity to travel Europe and the USA and to meet and work with some very interesting (and talented) people on some top level projects - including F1, Indycar, Le Mans etc. It has given me some very privileged access over the years (which sometimes when you are standing in the pit-lane, where most of the paying spectators would give their eye-teeth to be, you have to remind yourself is privileged, and not get too blase about it)
Currently I am working as a sub-contract project manager for two separate companies, one is a high specification damper programme where I get to attend a load of motor races and tests in Britain and Europe, the other is an engine tuning and development company, which, again involves some interesting motorsport projects (sometimes the 2 companies interests overlap and I can kill two birds with one stone).
In the future I hope to get the chance to work on some motorbike racing programmes, which would be the ultimate for me - I always say that I get paid to go to car races, but I pay my own money to go to bikes races, so if I can get paid to go to bike races as well, then it would be great.
I'm your sinking feeling in the rear view mirror. Sorry
Aaaahhhh, your my wife when I am upto something !!!!!
Or you could be the old bill, I'm sure thats probably it, nothing wrong with that, i have a very good friend who is a traffic officer, despite the grief you guys get, most of you are perfectly reasonable blokes, just a shame about the 10% that spoil it for you
I am a retired Traffic Cop - well retired 20 years this month so well out of date. My wife has M/S and due to that I have been completely retired since leaving the poliice early on health grounds myself. So basically a full time carer now although the reality is that we rub along together with the various tasks in the house - and of course I have the 300C and my 1964 Morris 1100 to take care of as well. Oh yes, and to complete the Gamekeeper turned Poacher scenario I am Scottish Administrator for the Association of British Drivers (The ABD) - a motoring pressure group.
