aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaarrrrrrrrhhhhhh

I'm chuffin Livid, or at least I might be in the morning.

Just heard a rumour, that one of our local petrol stations, had a fuel contamination.. dozy driver, put Diesel in one of the Petrol tanks.

I guess you know where I'm heading ??
A full week of lobbing parts at a renault Megane trying to determine why the f**k it's not running right.
She filled up on Thursday, the problems started on Friday. I was away until Sunday.
I was going to ask, if she'd put any new fuel in, but when I saw the gauge was less than half a tank, I didn't bother.

So wev'e now brimmed it with Super Unleaded, and I suppose the test run in the morning will tell me the answer.

What's worse, she can't find the receipt, so I don't have a leg to stand on..

aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaarrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrgg ggggggggggggggggggggggggggggghhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh hhhhhhhhh

hmmmmmm ok, I'm no engineer, but why would fuel contamination only affect the car once it's warm? Logically I would have thought it would have the symptoms all the time, unless someone else can explain?

It was the other way around.. runs OK when warm, and like a bag of spanners when cold.

A mechanic mate of my dad says it would make sense.. ie Diesel burns better when the engine is warm.
says it ties in with what I've been saying, rough idling, poor take off when cold.. plugs sooty, and a rich burning smell.

I asked the woman in the other filling station, if she's heard these rumours... her reply "You what.. there's been loads of people complaining, cars not running right, cutting out and poor starting"
Watch this space and wish me luck

Nae luck! That does suck. Surely they'd have your car on the CCTV and if you had a claim to make against them they would have to prove you didn't fill up.

Without a reciept, there is no way they'll admint liability.
I don't want to come over UN-PC, so I shan't reveal who owns the filling station..

Oh.. she says it's not so much has hiccuped this morning... she'll be out again at lunch time, so I'll get another update then .
