Heres the actual email I received from one of their distibutors. I sent out about 10 emails so Im not sure which distributor this is because the return address is different from any of the ones I sent mail to.

"Terry, that grille will be in production tomorrow, it will take a couple of weeks to get, the price for that grille is $265.00 plus shipping. If you want it we can take a credit card over the phone and ship one out to you in Florida.

Thank you, Chris"

Count me in, at $265 I don't expect a volume discount but it doesnt hurt to try. Perhaps forum members could get a "coupon code" if there is such a thing?

I'm dying to say that I'm in inline to buy this grill but I think I will wait ...

They say that the one that hits first, hits the hardest ... So I'm thinking there will be 100's of these grills out there pretty soon on almost every 300 ...
Without knowing the quality, I'll hold ...
Looks like they gutted the horizontal and vertical bars of the original grill and just attached the mesh to that.
Just my 2cents ....

If you used that logic you would not be driving a 300C. Does that mean you "took a bath" when you purchased it?

Take another look! The grill is listed as "Stainless Steel Heavy Mesh Style" and the OEM factory grill is just plastic. Notice the very thick surrounding edge of the grill - it looks very substantial to me.

anyone know how difficult it would be to install that grille? It looks like you would keep the factory chrome surround. I think that mesh grille will be a big seller.

Lightbulb

I looked closely at the stock grille on the 300. The whole grille, including the surround, appears to be one piece (plastic).

Just for reference, the 300M grille insert and surround were separate pieces. That's why the stainless steel mesh grille mod on the 300M was pretty simple.

If you look closely at the top portion of the surround on the "Bentley" style 300 grille, you'll see that the shape and implementation of the "wing" area is slightly different than stock. This makes me confident that they are not just installing the mesh in an old plastic surround, as someone suggested.

If the mesh grille for the 300 IS, in fact, 304 stainless, I think it's a very good deal at $265. That's not much more than the mesh grille mod kit, and the 2002 style surround (for older 300Ms) cost. Installation is probably simpler too than in the 300M mod, where you had to drop the whole front valance. There appears to be a lot more working room between the back of the grille and the radiator on the 300.

Perhaps a current 300 owner could raise the hood and see if the mounting fasteners for the grille are reasonably accessible from the rear. Any takers??

BTW, I am definitely in on the grille and license bracket if a group purchase happens.

Just thought I'd let you all know that my parents went to look at a 300C the other day and the salesman eventually mentioned that if my father liked the Bentley-esque styling of the 300C they could install a Bentley type grill for him at the dealership. Not sure of the price and whether or not this was just this particualar dealership, but the salesman offered it without being prompted. Could this be something that Chrysler itself is offering or is it just this dealer working with an aftermarket supplier?
