Question HELP!!- T-Rex Mesh Grilles

UK owner due to take delivery of 300C CRD in March and I wish to order the T-Rex Hybrid Series mesh grille ASAP. Urgent assistance please re critical ordering / shipping time scale?

1) The triple chrome version part no. #80471 is reported to have problems re peeling chrome. Anyone have evidence of this or if you are happy with it how long have you had it fitted?

2) Alternatively, if you have the 'polished' version part no. #70471 is it more durable than the triple chrome version or is it a 'pain' to maintain the shine etc?

Thanks for your anticipated help!

Geordie

Hey Geordie, i have the chrome one on since August or September can't remember and put the car away in mid to end November , grille still looks and shines like new but maybe 3-4 months is not enough time for wear and tear, i dunno.

Hi Geordie, sorry to hijack this one but you mentioned earlier that Mopar do a grill for £419. I've had a hunt around and can't find the blighter on our systems. Any chance you might have a link or better yet a part no?

All the best

Mark

Hi there 'black c'...

Thanks for the info on the E & G which is a great choice. I have narrowed my personal preference to the T-Rex and would welcome responses to my original post.

Hi Belmont

do you mind if I hijack your hijack to Geordie as I happen to have the info to hand. The part no is 82209852. If you need any help in getting in touch with a high quality DC dealer, just ask

MTC / Belmont CJ...

You two jokers are too quick for me but this gives me the opportunity to get my original post back on top of the pile!

I have the triple chromed t-rex and yes I am having some issues with the quality. I live in ohio, so yes there is snow and such, but being that my c is black I still wash it 2 -3x's/wk. It has been on since Spring 05 and I noticed tarnish and pebble size flakes when close up. I,however, polished the grille and it helped remove the tarnish, but I am still concerned with the flake offs. My problem now is, yes it is still under warranty, but do I really want the extra hassel of removing it-----putting in the OEM-----waiting for product return yadayada....

Hi there 'pmpn8ez'...

I would welcome some further info from you re your quality issues:-

1) How long after installation did the tarnishing and flaking become apparent

2) Is the problem confined to the frame; mesh or both

3) What has been the response from T-Rex i.e. did they say it was an isolated problem; a faulty batch; is there a problem on a wider scale with this particular model (#80471) or is there a quality issue with T-Rex products in general.

Your response would be greatly appreciated as I am about to order.

Regards
Geordie
