What aftermarket grills are easy to clean?

Im still trying to decide what grill to get. I was wanting everyones input on how much effort is required to clean aftermarket grills. I like the 'mesh' grills but imagine they would be very difficult to keep clean. Where i live there are alot of bugs in the summer and salt for snow in the winter that makes thorough cleanings very frequently needed. i want a grill that is easy to clean and maintains its finish. I like chrome the best, but was wondering if stainless hold up better?. Let me know about your experiences with cleaning your grill. Please include the type/brand of grill and its finish. Thanks!

I have the basic E&G mesh grille in stainless steel. I have since had it professionally painted brilliant black to match the body.

I use a paint sealer on it same as the rest of the car. A soft brush with soap and water keeps it clean. It is actually easier than the factory grille as all the surfaces are at one level (no deep crevices). And the big bugs get chopped and diced by the mesh - making their removal that much easier.

Well JE 300

It's early days yet (I only got Arnie at the end of Jan 2006), but his grill washes up a treat with a sponge and regular soapy water. In Cumbria the council likes to throw a LOT of salt onto the roads and he becausew of that the BRILLIANT shine soon becomes just plain old shine ! But a quick rub with Mr Sponge brings everything back to normal. The grill is an E&G classics S/steel mesh grill with centre bar.

Like NR said, I too find the above aftermarket grille (like the one owned by Murphy The Cat) to be much easier to take care of than the OEM grille. The OEM grille's design allows too many large bugs (butterflies) to pass through the large openings and thus become lodged in my radiator fins. Since access is not easy, as I don't have long skinny arms like 'E.T.', cleaning it is definitely a pain.

I have the precision mesh grille and I must say that it is very easy to clean, a bit soapy cloth does the job wondefully, takes me 2 minutes at most to clean it to perfection.

It is the precision grille with stainless steel frame, and chrome wire mesh.

I too, have the E&G Mesh Grill. I use a long handled soft bristled brush to clean the grill, then go down behind the grill, and clean the radiator of any alien creatures there.

p.s. the gap behind the grills so large, I half expect to find an illegal immigrant behind there.

I thought that it might be difficult to clean the mesh grilles because of their design. Those of you who have stainless grills (E&G, Precision), how well does the grilles finish match the chrome trim on the car. I just thought that stainless may not match as well as chrome. Please let me know from your experiences.
