Body shop estimate, need others opinoins!

So here is what Im getting done. I have 5 very small dents on the hood from some hail, two on the trunk, and one one the side of the car. All of them are going to be dentless repair. I also am getting my trunk latch re-welded to the car in the trunk area with an estimate of 4 labor hours to do so. My total estimate is $975. Does that sound about right to anyone? I have no clue, but it seems a it high to me. Any opinoins?

It's a little hard to tell without pics, but it seems a little high. Have you gone to other places to get estimates? You should get 3 from bodyshops where you'd feel comfortable getting the work done and see what the range is. The way you described the trunk latch situation not being welded on in your other thread, I assume that's what you're going to have done this time.

exactly, im going to get them to weld the trunk latch on this time instead of it just being bolted on. I know its tough without pics but the dents are all very small, and you have to get on different angles to see all of them. The problem is, I have only used a body shop twice, and it was this same one each time. I really dont have another body shop that I know will do good solid work. $975 does seem a bit high to me as well considering that only $150 is for the re-welding of the trunk latch.

Body shops get a lot of their business from word of mouth. Ask around and I'm sure some of your friends or family would be able to recommend a decent shop.

If $150. is for the latch and the rest is for paintless dent removal. I think your paying to much.
Look in the yellow pages for paintless dent removal, Dent masters or Dent wizard. Most of these are mobile and will come to you.
That should give you a more acurate feel of the original estimate.

I have never priced paintless dent repair, however it seems high to me considering I got an estimate of over $800 to repair some paint chips. I'd say do some more shopping around...

I had one dent on the front passenger door and it coast $80. for the paint-less repair. So you could look at it this way count the dents and multiply them by 80$ and see what you come up with.
